This week, I thought I’d do something about keeping up to date.

GOOD IDEA 1

Remember to update your knowledge – both general and specialist.? Things constantly change, so it’s important to be well informed.? And remember to check how recent your sources are.? Books and online information can easily be out of date.


GOOD IDEA 2

Update your skills too.? Consider courses, especially those run by experts in your field.

?

GOOD IDEA 3

Remember you can gain a lot from networking.? It’s easy to pick up information – even snippets, which can really inform you of current facts and trends.

?

GOOD IDEA 4

Join in. Is there a professional body that’s relevant to you?? How about an online interest group?? Maybe a working party or research group relevant to what you do.

?

GOOD IDEA 5

Discuss.? Ordinary conversations can give you ideas to check out and explore.? It’s not only facts that you can update; you can update your ideas and attitudes as well.? You never know when a simple conversation can make you think differently.
