Good food deserves a good photograph...

So you want people to taste your food, you want people to find you, love what you produce and know that you have a stunning menu. So, how do you get people to find you, want to eat at your restaurant? Remember, people eat with their eyes... a great image will entice like nothing else...
The basis of any business is that of being found... or better yet recommended. The thing is, to be found, people have to know about you first... it's the whole thing of who knows how to find you if they don't know you exist in the first place. For that, our world of social media these days is exceptional... it's given businesses the ability to reach people more effectively and more consistently than ever before. The days of a bunch of a5 flyers coming through the door and either grabbing our attention or being consigned straight to the bin whilst not over, are now the exception, not the norm.
So, how to make best use of social media? There are people that can assist you (speak to Miranda at Talking Social Media for that) and use beautiful images that attract people to visit your restaurant or bar.
What makes for a good image? Well, something clear, vibrant and real! There is no point in posting a photograph that your chef as absolutely no chance of reproducing in a live situation! Equally, taking a quick snap on your phone and posting that probably won't hack it either. It's not about megapixels, it's about clarity, white balance, location, composition and reality. How often have you seen a photograph from a restaurant and thought... hmmm, maybe not... it's all kind of orange, or green, or brown, or simply dark!?
So check this out, we will not only coem and photograph your headline images (those that you want on your website and on your major attraction marketing, but we will teach you how to get the best out of what you have for the other images that you could post. After all, there is little point in having a stunning food image from us and then posting a dark, blurry, badly composed image from your phone an hour later!
So what can we do that makes it all different, why are we so pleased with what we produce over what you can produce yourselves? Well, for a start, we bring lighting with us, generally a restaurant isn't kitted out to make their food look beautiful, it's kitted out to have the right ambience, two entirely different things! We also know how to photograph particular food properly, some need an overall shot, some need details, some work well with a more specular (that means highlit) light, others are better with a softer light.
One last thing, avoiding the McDonalds pit fall... don't fake the food photography... if a client can't eat the food, we won't photograph it. So no part cooked items, no glue instead of cream, no potato instead of ice-cream etc etc etc... We take pride in the fact that when we are set and ready to roll, we can shoot your food in a quick enough time that it comes off the pass, goes to us, on to the client and they still get hot food to eat (if you want to do it that way). Whatever way you look at it, we are about real food that your client will be able to eat, every time, every client!
If you really want to know what would work with your food at your restaurant, give us a nudge, let's get together and see just what can be done to put your offering above that of your competitors, we all need an edge, let us be yours.
