Good Food, Best Mates, and Sustainable Diwali Celebration

Hey friend!

Aren’t there times when you just want to test your organization’s fishy policy that sounds too good to be true? Being the guy with that knack, I recently took our “work from anywhere” policy to literally working from Dubai. And guess what, it was incredible. Once a quarter we’re allowed to work from anywhere on the planet, even the moon if you got Wi-Fi there. However, the festive season pulled me back home.

Last week, we agreed to put away those dandias we used during meetings and start decorating the office with lights, because it’s Diwali. So, what did we do in our office? We had the whole office decorated, played exciting games, and had a plate full of food but a stomach full of laughter. We were losing in dumb charades but winning in tambola because of my bad luck as I didn’t get any number, apparently that too had the second-best prize. We also shared the vibrant traditions of Diwali and painted a colorful picture with the Latam Team of how this joyous festival is celebrated in India. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect and learn from each other’s cultures!

Seeing deserts in Abu Dhabi made me realize the importance of the oath we’ve taken in the office to keep the planet green. Hence, we decided to celebrate with a purpose. So we turned our Diwali celebration into a Zero-Waste Lunch Day challenge by committing to ditching plastic containers and leaving absolutely no waste behind. Armed with biodegradable utensils and a determined spirit, we made sure not a single bite was left on our plates, and our containers were as clean as our intentions.

As we all showed our superpowers through our commitment towards sustainability, we celebrated The International Boss Day with the same spirit. We asked employees to share one superpower of their bosses and got some awesome responses – “His superpower is his way with words - you just can't win any argument with him but..? Read more .

Speaking of bosses, our CEO attended the CGF Event in which he gave valuable insights and shared the GenAI’s four A impact – Adoption, Augmentation, Automation, and Acceleration – as the key to success. The CGSM 2024 Summit was another highlight of this month that we sponsored. It helped us to reconnect, share knowledge, and build new relationships with our industry friends that inspire us to push the boundaries of innovation.

Gotta dash! Dumb Charades round 2 is calling. But before I go, just reminding you that we have some awesome opportunities here at Decision Point. How to get more information on that? Check the careers page and hope you will find the best-suited opportunity for yourself.

Now I’ll go. I need to decide which pictures of Dubai, Dandiya, & Diwali to post on my Instagram feed. Yes, I’ll do that in my work hour ??
