Good Evidence is IMPORTANT !!!!
Typing this while wearing a Batman cape.
Just got to know that a burglary occurred the other day at one of my close friend and an Authorized Partners office. Check them out here (https://linkd.in/1A2eQve)
On me asking whether all was ok ? and did they catch anyone, his response made me proud "No worries bro...we had IndigoVision installed".
Here are some photographs from the footage which helped them catch the perpetrators and recover all the stolen goods.
Note: Faces are blurred and some images cannot be shared. Images on the left are from the full Field of View. Pictures on the right are zoomed in.
Pic 1: The two suspects scan the office from the outside, seems they have had previous information that it stores expensive AV products.
Pic 2: They did a quick walk around to get an idea if someone was inside the office at that time.
Pic 3: While they break into the office, an accomplice is seen waiting outside assessing the area. Even after zooming into the image for Identification purposes, the image is clear.
Pic 4: Once they are inside, another accomplice is waiting outside to ensure no one is coming into the office or any passerby does not raise any alarms.
Pic 5: You can clearly see the same accomplice (In Red Box) waiting outside the entrance while his partners are inside the office.
Things to note:
1.Installation of the camera (security equipment) must always be done at the right spot so you get the correct Field of View/Coverage. In this case, this particular camera can not only see the entrance from outside but also the street. This helps you to build a chain of events from multiple angles ensuring you are seeing the right person. Use the Rotakin Test so you know which camera needs to be installed where for Monitoring, Identification, Recognition, etc. Different cameras are designed with different lenses for different purposes (India is one of the only places I have seen that a tender will have all 300 of the same camera type/lens. That usually isn't good practice)
2. Good Quality Image - As the old saying goes "if you pay peanuts - you will get monkey's", investing in a good system helps you for the long run. I have seen tons of evidence video where the image is either too grainy or too bright and it doesn't stand a chance in court. The premium you pay for installing one of the best CCTV systems out there - pays for itself. (I am strongly against the concept of Tendering (L1) as it does not give the customer the correct scale (lowest priced) to measure the quality of the product they wish to purchase.
3. Tamper Proof Evidence: IndigoVision exports tamper proof video, which you can authenticate. Not only that, it builds a chain of trust - "Video is digitally signed on the NVR and on EXPORT" so you can ensure no Video Editing tools were used to alter the same. This is critical because these standards are built to ensure that the exported video evidence can be used in a court of law.
Another day....another crime solved.
( Do drop me a note if you want to see the full size images or a sample of the video quality.)

9 年Awesome. Good way of letting know how quality work done during design and installation phase, pays off later.
