So, last weekend I got a belated birthday present: The Cybersecurity Playbook written by Allison Cerra. When asked about what I would like to get for my birthday, I mentioned this book. I choose it after visiting the internet. Searching for a good cybersecurity book I relied on the judgement of others:
I came across this book, it was popping up on both lists. And it is about a topic I like: the soft side of Cyber Security. It is about helping employees at all levels of an organization on how they can help defend the organization and what their role is. It also drives home the importance of having a culture where honesty is rewarded. A culture of security that allows people not only to help each other. But also to be honest with each other when it comes to unsafe practices. And being able to admit making mistakes. This is the basis on which the first line of defence will be the most effective, meaning all employees.
The chapter on Stop the line vs Never stop the line. And the chapter Bridging the gap discussing the focus of the industry on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math moving) which should move to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math moving) were inspiring.
