Your customer want to know. Your customer needs to know. Your customer has a lot of questions. Your customer wants to come back. Your customer is nervous.
Talk to your customers, Internal and external. The better job you do of communicating critical information to the people who support you, the better and faster you will return to normal.
Signs, Flyers, Memos, Emails communicate solid and specific information. You control the message. Your message is uniform and consistent.
· Tell them it is ok to return.
· Tell them specifically the cleaning precautions that have been taken and the procedures that will be in effect going forward.
· Outline specific concerns and remedy’s that have been taken.
· Identify specific touch points that are being cleaned throughout the day.
· Advise them of specific precautions to take when visiting your facility.
“If it isn’t in writing – It never happened”. Just telling people of your intentions is not enough. People remember 10% of what they hear and 50% of what they see.
Give your customers the information they need to return to doing business with you and assure them that you are focused on their health and needs.

4 年Jack, you make some good points. All too often, people returning from a hiatus of sorts assume that everything will be as it was before they left, but that is rarely the case. If we take time to put ourselves in the shoes of our customers, we can preclude many lost opportunities by planning the steps needed (like communication) to improve upon our new shared circumstances. The best way back into the market is to introduce our new perspectives and processes in a way that our customers see how the changes improve their experience with us.
