Good bye Valo, Welcome Omnia

All my friends and family in the community, I'm exited to announce the next step in my journey. But before I want to share some insights behind this decision.

I can honestly say that this has been a very difficult change, mostly because of the fact that I have built the Valo Partner network from a very small number of partners to more then 250 partners. I felt that Valo was my life, the colleagues and partners was my family, and I thought that it will stay like that forever. I was Valo, Valo was me, but then my old boss Jari Pullinen pasted away little over 1 year ago. And everything with Valo was suddenly less important. My boss and my friend that I have enjoyed so much to travel with and to conquer the world with was not there no more. With that also the joy of working was gone, the vision and plan for Valo was gone. And I felt so lost. It didn't help with how everything was handled with afterwards from the management side in Valo. But for Valo I'm super exited that the management have been replaced, and I see also for them a very bright future. It will just be without me, but I wish them all the success they will get, and even if I'm not part of it, I'm still in #ValoLove and Thank you Valo for 5 years of amazing time together. You will forever be in my heart.

And this is why I gave Valo a lot of time before I went public with the fact that I'm not working there anymore, consider that I was mister Valo ?

So back to my next journey. I'm extremely proud and happy to announce that I have joined the amazing Precio Fishbone with their Omnia Intranet product in a Partner Alliance Manager Role.

Before going more into details about my role and what I will do in Omnia, I want to also show appreciation and love for another competitor of Valo because I also had a chance to join them. And it was a very difficult decision, because I fell also in love with their product, their team and also their wish for me to join them. They know who I talk about, and you all have earned my gratitude and respect, and who knows what the future brings, but I wish you all the success in the world. And I'm forever grateful that you also valued my expertise and knowledge in the field and how you showed it.

So why did I join Omnia and not the other company. There are multiple reasons. The fact that I can speak Norwegian when we have a lot of the meetings (Omnia is from Sweden) meant a lot. I didn't know how much I had missed talking in my native language. Secondly it was a much bigger challenge for me, and everyone perform better when they are challenged. For me to work with a product that integrates in a different way with Microsoft 365 is exiting, and it's challenging. And for me that was one of the key motivators. Because the other company has a product that is 100% direct competitor to Valo and for me to join them would have meant that I would direct compete against Valo. Which for me at this moment of time doesn't work. I can't fight against the love baby that we had with Jari, Tiina, Juha, Maiju and the rest of the startup crew in Valo Intranet.

So back to my role in Omnia. My main responsibility will be to grow the partner eco system, create the partner strategy, recruit new partners, build partner relationships, both with our partners selling Omnia, but also our technology partners like Microsoft and to make sure we align with the Microsoft offering.

I'm so exited to join the Omnia team because they are having one of the best if not the best Intranet products in the market with a very strong feature set, but more importantly I'm exited because the people that works there. The passion, the love and the respect that they have for everyone in the team, reminds me how everything was when I first joined Valo years ago, and I have missed that feeling so much.

My welcome has been nothing but exceptional, the trust and respect they put in me and my knowledge is something that I appreciate so much. So thank you for giving me the chance to grow together.

Time has come to build something amazing, together with the Omnia team.

And at the same time I will continue with my DocsNode and Dapt work.

Knut, congratulations with your new job! And thanks for your openess in sharing. The 5 years with Valo were also 5 years with I4-YOU. And you have contributed a lot! Besides business we also had a lot of fun and good talks. Thnx for all. All the best in your new job and sure we will meet again.

Let’s see what the future brings. The intranet market is one of the hardest right now as I see it. If Microsoft is your biggest competitor you have a hard fight coming up. I wish you the best!
