Almost 4 out of 10 employees in India face burnout. This is a report by the leading data website of the world Statista. It mentioned 38% of Indian employees reported burnout signs frequently.
There can be several causes due to which you might face burnout, quiet-quitting, and mental instability at your workplace.
But isn't it true that in the end, it is the organization that decides how much work it wants, how much money it wants, how rules are in place, and how they handle situations?
Do I even need to enlighten you that these decisions are made either by the owner, CXOs, or Team Leaders of particular accounts that they manage?
?So essentially, it comes down to that one person who is in the position of taking the final call. The decision allows the team to start working in that direction.
Whether it is the senior management or a small creative team, it always comes down To that one person who acts as the decision-maker.
Let's call that person a BOSS
Did you know BOSS actually means MASTER?
According to an article published by CBS News, Boss comes from the Dutch word ‘base’.
In Dutch, ‘base’ means ‘Master’
During the mid-19th century revolution, Americans started calling their masters BOSS
Because the word ‘Master’ was strongly associated with Slavery.
Isn't this an eye-opener?
I am recalling so many big & small incidents where my boss assumed I am her/his slave.
Are you recalling too??
So, how do we decide on a Good boss vs. a Bad boss?
I recently watched Javier Bardman’s movie The Good Boss
As a Gen-Z Indian netizen, I will say it was very slow and boring
But as an Indian thinker and media professional, I would say it was a beautiful treat to the mind.
Slow, subtle layers of human psychology were revealed in the pursuit of preserving identity.?

A strange chord strung.
This is exactly what is happening in start-up cultures and offices of modern India.
I have experienced a fake cloud of positivity and empathy on the above
&? insensitivity inside the hearts of managers, and bosses toward the team
Who is to blame?
Maybe they have been burdened too. And they are just treating us, the way they have been treated. Or they weren't lucky enough to read and understand human life to the depths as the next generation does.? All they had was their college, placement, family pressure, cheap entertainment, and booze.??
IMO, I have jotted down these 5 main differentiators.
This may or may not apply to your boss. It is not a fact.
It is an observation of human skills. And I have made this, so you don't fall prey to shrewd humans acting as empaths on the front.
Hope you like the last edition of this month. Our aim is the well-being of young working professionals. Who knows their work beautifully but not the human side of offices?
