Good Better Best?

Good Better Best?

Are you positively feeling super well? Functioning to the Max?

Ok, you’re thinking it’s still January, so is this going to be yet another one of those get yourself in shape blogs that simply make you feel awful about not having launched yourself off to a flying start this year?

The simple answer is no it’s not!

We put so much pressure on ourselves to do more, be more, do better, do best, that is it surprising that we simply cave in with all the expectations we load up on our shoulders. The simple truth is that any change comes about because we really want to not because of a sense of obligation and I should. When we all get caught up in how we should get fit, we should eat better, sleep better, play better, this over whelming feeling of never quite being good enough dominates the way we feel about ourselves. Time for a change I think!

How about coming at things in an entirely new way, a way that honours ourselves and has us making choices because we want to not because we ought to. In essence it’s all about finding the holy grail of feeling good!

So the way I view things is this, a body is like a car it benefits from regular doses of quality fuel and oil and also by being taken out for regular spins. Look after your car and it will run beautifully for you. This is exactly the same for our bodies, no fashionable faddy diet, no killing yourself in the gym, simply adopting the same understanding of what you put in and how much you move will have a direct effect on how good you feel.

When people are asked what they most want from life the majority will answer to feel good and be happy, so working back from this ultimate goal, which are the most effective ways to achieve this?

One sure fire way is to feel good in your body and to feel strong and fully alive. When we are in this state there is no challenge that we can’t face, we take life in our stride and we start feeling oh so very good!

So check in with your feelings of obligation, check in with yourself when you catch yourself saying or thinking should and start to get in touch with how you want to feel. Concentrate on the end goal of feeling good and become aware that your everyday decisions will effect the outcome. No pressure, no not feeling good enough, just follow your desire to really feel good and be on top of your game. When you put this idea into practice and continue to adopt the no obligation rule you will see your life begin to take a new turn and you will start to feel truly alive.

Try it, you have nothing to lose and potentially a whole lot to gain, what’s not to love?
