The Good, The Bad and The Rest
The human brain is built around narratives – it’s how we communicate and engage with the world.
In film making, storytelling is the number one skill an editor must have. Edits affect the narrative and how it involves an audience. There is language contained in every shot and every scene. A good edit should be invisible - if it isn’t smooth, it will lose impact along with your audience.
Production values are vital and can make or break a film, even before it reaches the edit stage. The crew's ability to take a brief based on the production specification is essential; as well as having a well thought out plan that is executed.
At Three Motion we follow our three stage process ‘Create, Engage, Share’ and ask you:
- What is the vision for your project?
- How will it develop?
- Who is your audience?
Knowing the final destination is important. This will help in planning the use of scripts, storyboards, audio and graphic content.
Our post production team includes animators and editors who work closely together in supporting various aspects of all projects. This could be providing storyboard ideas, music, and sound effects to create a soundscape for the film. Sound is equally as important as the visuals and together it engages audiences, sets the mood and evokes emotions.

Our team of directors, camera operators and editors are involved in making sure the best footage is captured to produce the perfect result. Camera positions, composition of shots, music and effects all complete the package. We are confident that each member of our team will play their part in your production. Each one is skilled in their field and we combine those skills to impact on the end result.

Telling the perfect story involves knowing the content well, and then it’s a case of deciding what to keep, what to lose, and what to do with the rest. While making lots of decisions and adjusting a few frames here and there, we add finesse to the final product. It’s repetitive and requires patience but the effort is worth it.
With only have a few minutes to grab attention, pacing is vital. Action sequences suggest impact and energy. More subtle pacing suggests sensitivity and emotion. Your content will dictate the pace of the edit. Once that is perfected, we can move on to the art – using colour grading, graphic content and effects.
Our creative team will work closely with you throughout to provide content that is rich in charm and craft; unique, engaging and reflective of your brand.
You can be assured that every one of our team gives their utmost attention to their specific element of the production to make a final product that meets, and more likely, exceeds your expectation.
