the author Bairam Singh Yadav , has viewed Palm oil cultivation to resolve edible oil crisis in India. His highlighted points are:

1. One hectare palm plantation can produce 8 times more than any other oilseed crop. thus palm oil plantation will boost farmer's income

2. India is the world's largest palm oil importer and second largest consumer

3. Globally it has been linked to ecological degradations forest land were converted into palm plantations. we need to exploit this

4.Palm oil plantation can sequester up to 15t of C02 per hectare

5. Palm plantations are criticized for water consumption, where as palm needs half of Bana & sugarcane and one fourth of Paddy cultivation. India needs to exploit NE region where average rain fall is around 1000 mm

6. Andhra Pradesh has demonstrated right palm model where farmer's income have grown to three folds

7. India imports 15 mt of out of 25 mt consumed yearly. the oil bill needs to be checked

8. Palm oil is a win win in every aspect and may pivotal role for self sufficiency and sustainability ambitions.

To me it appears as logical and obvious approach. the views of experts are solicited
