Salam / Hi,
I was very fortunate not to experience the traffic jam on my way back to Penang this morning. However, I had to leave at 4:30 am to ensure that I could avoid from wasting my time crawling on the North-South Highway like what I did last year.
Traffic was smooth and it took me about 3 hours and 15 minutes to reach my destination. Since it was still early, the first place which we headed to was Jalan Argyll to tapau some roti canai for breakfast. What makes these roti canai to be different from the ones in KL? Actually, it is the curry, not so much of the roti.
Met a Malay friend of mine who would be rushing back to Teluk Intan, Perak this afternoon for his family reunion dinner too. Many are going through a similar experience during this period of Chinese New Year celebration. Such a unique and interesting mix of two cultures in a family.
While celebrating the Year of Monkey, we will be scouting for some interesting places here in Penang and definitely, food will be top of the list. The Gurney Drive pasembor, Penang Road Cendol and Hameediyah's Kari Kapitan would be the usual target every time we come back to Penang. As for the nasi kandar Line Clear, even though there's another branch just opened in KL, the one in Penang is still the best.
Will share some of our experiences here in Penang in our next edition of inspiraC.
inspiraC would like to take this opportunity to wish those who are celebrating Chinese New Year, Gong Xi Fa Cai! Have fun with your loved ones, enjoy the time that you will be having together and have a safe journey home.
Take care and have a great day ahead.
