Goliath: a long-lasting coaster giant
17 years after its opening, Goliath at Walibi Holland still roars damn well and delivers a smooth outstanding ride! Today, the Mega Coaster does not age and continue to entertain an extended audience, without deceiving all expectations. I personally rode it yesterday (22.07.2019), exactly 10 years since my last visit. The ride in facts: a 90 seconds journey, more than 1200 meters of track, a top height of 47 meters, 2 trains of 32 passengers each capable of reaching speeds above 105 km/h, a ride hourly capacity exceeding 1200 pph.
It is an airtime and speed machine icon where your heart will definitely race. That's the kind of attraction that cannot be summed up in a single word. It is one of that “experience of a lifetime”, truly a soul lifting one, and the smile of your face will reflect it, at least for the next couple of hours after you have been on it. The key has been (and it is) designing and then building a solid and durable product capable of lasting through the years. Evidently, only a constant, methodical and rigorous maintenance can then preserve such kind of attractions. Merit for the care of Goliath goes to the Walibi Holland Maintenance team of course. I have been thrilled again, 10 years later my last ride! A roller coaster lasts a long time if you get a good one. So, get an Intamin one! Have fun, always.
