Golf Swing Mechanics 12

Golf Swing Mechanics 12

Chicken Winging is our last swing variation we are going to have a look at.

A) Characteristics - the lead arm loses its extension at Impact which results in inefficient force transfer to the ball resulting in loss of power. The mechanics also leads to tennis elbow more often than not.

B) Causes - reduces leading arm strength and a reduction in shoulder mobility. A down swing that has a over-the-top path will force the the lead arm to wing because of the direction of the force acting upon it.

C) Corrections - Improve shoulder mobility and strength of arm and back muscles.
