Golf Journeys: Meet Ryan Engle
Welcome to a new segment of our exciting interview series, “Golf Journeys” where we delve into the stories of passionate golfers and their adventures on the greens. Through a captivating?5-questions interview, we aim to celebrate the joy, camaraderie, and inspiration that golf brings to our lives.
In this new interview post, we are thrilled to introduce our new guest – the one and only?Ryan Engle from @tipsfromthetips and proud founder of Nation Golf.
1- Hi Ryan, how were you first introduced to golf?
In the 80’s, the Palm Springs area was THE hotbed for the spring breakers. Back?then, all the schools were out at the same time, Easter week, and the valley was booming.
My Grandfather lived on and was a member of a golf club. With the influx of kids that week, he campaigned?a 5 day “junior clinic” that week which taught us the basics of the game and etiquette?with a tournament at the end. We grew up playing in this and looked forward to it every year.
What I didn’t know was that the very essence of the era and style of the times in that environment shaped me as a man and entrepreneur. It’s where I was shown the art of swankiness.
2- We know golfers have their unique rituals and superstitions on the course. Do you have any quirky pre-game routines or lucky charms that you swear by?
For me, golf is a break from the norm, a true vacation in time from our busy lives. So I tend to treat it as such. That usually starts with an adult libation at the bar before our tee time.
3- At Lambda Golf, we celebrate the love for golf and the joy it brings. Can you share a heartwarming golfing story or a funny golfing moment?that happened to you on the course??
My first hole-in-one was during a dear friend’s bachelor party in Palm Springs. We had 8 players that day and all were jammed up on the tee box on 17. As the ball trickled towards the hole, I never saw it go in because the moment it did I was tackled by 7 close friends. Let’s just say that was a night to remember.

4- Every golfer has a “dream” golfing destination. If you could play a round of golf anywhere in the world, where would it be, and why?
It would have to be the Old Course at St. Andrews. It is the home of golf. I need to walk those sacred grounds!
5- What footwear model from Lambda Golf would you choose for that extraordinary experience?
I am a very traditional golfer when it comes to style. For me, it would have to be a Black and White Wingtip “Pavia”.? To me, there is nothing better.
Bonus Question:?If you could design a dream pair of golf shoes for yourself, what features would they have? Get creative and let your imagination run wild!
If I could design a dream pair of Lambdas, It would have to be an all-white Pavia. Pebble leather with White Gator Saddle and toe accents. Just something about the cleanness?of an all-white shoe mixed with the technical grains of the exotic leather. Maybe a gold logo.
Simple from far but legendary up close.
Thank you Ryan!
