If you’re looking to make a transition into a non-clinical role do this 1?? thing Try to find a company that has hired some clinicians in the past, but isn’t overly saturated with clinicians otherwise you won’t be able to stand out in the interviewing and hiring process and it could be challenging to find other internal departments to transfer into should your interests change Did you know when searching for a company on LinkedIn you can filter down to people and search by title? ??

Psychologists: Don't Let Paperwork Delay Your Dream Job! ?? In my daily conversations with early career psychologists eager to land their dream roles, a common hurdle I've noticed is the delay in applying for a Medicare provider number. This crucial step is often overlooked until the last minute, potentially putting your ideal job on hold. Why is this important? The Medicare provider number is a unique identifier which enables psychologists to bill for Medicare-funded services provided under the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS).?Having your Medicare provider number ready not only accelerates your hiring process but also ensures that you can begin delivering care and billing for services immediately upon starting your new position. Here’s what you can do: ?? Apply Early: As soon as you meet the eligibility criteria, start your application! Don't wait for a job offer to begin this process. ? Stay Informed: Understand the requirements and timeline for obtaining your provider number. The earlier you start, the better as this can sometimes take over a month to be processed. ?? Seek Advice: If you're unsure about the process, reach out to colleagues who have recently navigated it, or consider professional guidance. Let’s streamline your path to success by being proactive about the necessary administrative steps. Your dream job doesn’t need to wait! Feel free to connect with me for further advice or to discuss how you can better prepare for your next opportunity. #Psychology #MedicareProvider #CareerAdvice #HealthcareProfessionals

Co-founder- Fidato Health, Building a wellness partner for founders who want to build mentally healthy and productive teams without breaking the bank.
I have been talking to psychologists as well as mental health organizations and Start-ups and here are some of the ways psychologists can earn more: 1. Upgrade your skills- As Sumer Soni rightly pointed out, upgrade your knowledge and skills. This can give you a competitive advantage. You can actually negotiate and demand a higher pay from organisations if you continuously upgrade yourself. 2. Entrepreneurship- This is indeed one of the best ways to ensure that you get paid for what you deserve. Further, this can open up opportunities for other fellow psychologists to get fairly compensated. 3. Freelance at flexible mental health platforms- While entrepreneurship is amazing, it's important to understand that not everyone would have the aptitude or even willingness to take it up. Hence, freelancing is a great way to ensure that you get multiple clients from different organisations at a cost you feel appropriate according to your skills and experience. 4. Networking- There are various organisations and opportunities that compensates psychologists fairly, however access to the same can be difficult and this is where networking can help. Sometimes, just showing up opens a lot of opportunities. 5. Marketing- No, marketing is not just creating reels on Instagram. There are many other ways, you can reach out to people. If you aren't comfortable with showing face on Instagram, you can write blogs. If you don't like long form writing, you can simply put your views on LinkedIn and Twitter. If you don't want to be active on social media, you can create a professional SEO optimised website. If a professional website seems expensive, you can create a notion or a crafts profile that will help you get referrals from other clients, doctors and Therapists. Of course, a broader macro-economic and social change is needed to counter the pay gap, but it will take time. And meanwhile, these small efforts can help. What do you think?
Pursuing MPhil in Clinical Psychology at IHBAS | Qualified UGC NET, MP SET 2023, & GATE 2024 | Looking to utilize learning opportunities on the way...
Over and over I am seeing vacancy notifications for the post of clinical psychologist with the salary ranging anywhere between 35k to 45k? What is this? A joke? 3 years of bachelor's, 2 years of Master's, and 2 years of Mphil, 7 years it takes and all that for what like 40k? Are you kidding me? What do people think a clinical psychologist does? Talk for an hour, get a survey filled, speak a few comforting words, and take notes like they show in movies? This is a disrespect to your skills, knowledge, and competency. Next time someone offers you this, you must say “I am way more worthy than this.” There are ample opportunities and all you gotta do is upgrade yourself.
