Goldman Sachs’ Digital Asset Summit

I love coming to London. It's a vibrant city with great hospitality and arguably the financial heart of Europe. It's home to many crypto hedge funds, family offices, UHNWIs, and other groups that fall within Oxido Solutions ’ target audience, translating into events we’re eager to attend. Last week, I represented Oxido Solutions at the fourth edition of the Digital Asset Summit by 高盛 .

Led by Managing Director Mathew McDermott , Goldman Sachs was one of the first major banks to dive into crypto. In 2021, it launched a crypto trading desk and has continued to build on it since then. A significant part of the crypto network the bank has developed was present at the Digital Asset Summit in their London office at Plumtree Court, including many institutional clients and partners of Oxido Solutions.

There were quite a few successful institutional crypto quant and trading firms. Oxido Solutions connects with most of them on social media, where we share a common goal: helping institutional clients like those at Goldman Sachs generate additional passive income with a focus on risk management. It was great to meet some of these firms in person for the first time.

There were various speakers, including heavyweight Dan Morehead, Founder and CEO of Pantera Capital, a crypto hedge fund managing $5 billion in capital. Other notable speakers included Richard Galvin (Digital Asset Capital Management), Yuval Rooz (Digital Asset Holdings), and Hunter Horsley (Bitwise Asset Management).

Here are the key takeaways from the different sessions:

• Macro and digital asset markets are converging. In our increasingly digital world, digitally native assets are set to grow in adoption. Oxido Solutions supports this view. I've previously mentioned companies like T-Mobile and Sony entering the crypto market and the growing demand for our trading bot solutions among traditional players and emerging markets like Latin America.
• Digital asset infrastructure is becoming more sophisticated. As institutional involvement increases, the technology is becoming more integrated into the broader ecosystem. As crypto quant traders, we can attest to this. We need to maintain top-tier infrastructure for trend-following strategies to stay competitive, and we see more companies offering technological solutions.
• Crypto market psychology has shifted since the launch of BTC ETFs in January. The current momentum will continue to drive crypto adoption.
• Digital forms of money are evolving and influencing geopolitics. The race for Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) is ongoing.
• Blockchain technology is transforming collateral markets. This is already happening at scale, resulting in significant savings and operational efficiencies.
• Institutional involvement and tokenization initiatives were top of mind for many attendees, focusing on creating commercially sustainable and scalable market solutions.
