I, Linda, was jolted awake in the dead of night last week by the terrifying nightmare of a large cobra-like golden snake wrapping itself around my waist and biting the back of my head! I was curious as to why I might dream of such a frightening thing, so I did some research.

I was surprised to learn that in many cultures, dreaming of being bitten by a snake can mean transformation, healing or some kind of personal growth. Snake bite dreams can mean you are lucky and can expect prosperity from an unexpected occurrence.? Snake bites in dreams commonly link to transformation and rebirth. As a snake sheds its skin, such a dream might indicate that you are undergoing a significant transformation in your life.

Some cultures believe that snake dreams represent a change in life or renewal. If your life is challenging (and if you follow us, you know how challenging our life has been!) then dreaming about a snake may be how your unconscious mind is helping you come to terms with your struggles. Golden snakes represent wealth, power and abundance. This dream can often represent a change in life or renewal, and new lucrative opportunities coming. I was encouraged to find that this dream could be a positive omen.

The snake is often portrayed in mythology as a healing animal perhaps because a snake’s venom could be an antidote for certain ailments or the bite of a snake. Snakes were kept as sacred symbols in the temples of ancient Greece due to their healing powers. This is especially appropriate as Terry and I have been constantly confronted with extreme obstacles that present a powerful opportunity to do alchemy on every level. We write about this in all of our books.

Have you ever had a dream or nightmare about a snake? On one hand, it could mean that someone in your life is betraying or backstabbing you. Or you could try to embrace the meaning as a positive sign of change coming into your life. Spend some time meditating on what this particular dream means for you. It also can be helpful to journal about your dreams. Perhaps you are missing an important sign or warning, and you should pay attention to those close to you. Ask your angels for protection and to give you a sign of actions you should take, or a need to speak your truth.

So, as Taylor says: don’t be stressin’ or obsessin’ because snakes and stones won’t break your bones! You need to calm down!
