The Golden Rules of Venue Parking
As we all know, venues are one of the most important aspects of an event. It is literally where your success is housed, however, one must not forget about what accompanies a venue...parking. Yes, forgetting about the parking in relation to your event can be the beginning of an event that will be left in shambles. Today’s article is going to guide you in helping you determine the best parking for your fabulous event!
Venue Parking will set the tone for the remainder of your event. Your guests will begin to form their very first impressions of the event based on the level of ease or difficulty of parking. That is why this component of planning your event is so very important.
Number of Guests vs Parking Spaces
You’ve found THE perfect venue, however, how does the parking measure up? Before you sign your name on the dotted line to book a venue, compare the amount of parking spaces against the number of expected guests. Will your guests be bringing guests? Make sure to include them as well because they may drive in separate vehicles to the event. If your expected number of guests outnumber the amount of parking you have available, then move on to the next venue.
Communication is Key
Communication is something one must be a master of in the Event Planning arena. Failing to properly communicate can lead to confusion and dismay. When considering your parking, make sure your lines of communication are just as clear and concise as they are with every other element of the event.
Map It Out
Parking for guests is so much easier when guests know exactly where they should park at the venue. Make it a point to include detailed directions and maps in the invitations or registration confirmations. This is a “must-have” and will deter any confusion or delay in the execution of the event. Also, make sure the directions and maps are available on the event website as well.
Signage
There are those who are directionally challenged when it comes to reading maps and that is no biggie. Your back-up for this is your parking signage. Posting large, clear, and bright signage that can be seen in both sunlight and darkness will be a big help to guests when they arrive at the venue.
Valet, Shuttle Buses, and Parking Attendants
These three tools can tremendously cut down on parking confusion. Offering these gracious services will add a touch of class to your event and earn you major brownie points with your client.
