The golden rule for making any person want to listen more.
?
If you want people to listen to you more, then persuasion is one of the most important skills that you need to learn today.
In this essay, I will be explaining to you my mental model of persuasion, but before, I want to share my thoughts on why you should be interested in this skill.
Communication is at the core of every human interrelation, and I firmly believe that the right association with the right humans will define the success you have in life, the person you become, what others think about you, the job you can get, and even the partner that will choose you or you can get.
Contrary to the majority belief, persuasion is not directly related to selling, I can tell you from experience that great sellers simply use this framework naturally and as consequence, they become great at selling anything.
Being a persuasive person is not about convincing others, is about letting the words, tone, and sentences be the bridge of your heart’s intention.
To be honest with you, being seating my entire life just talking with a keyboard and with a screen, did not make me great at this, so I went to find a solution, even when I’m trying to improve this skill every day, is one of the skills that are hard to master for me, but with no doubt, these six rules make me better at it, and you should try them.
?
1. Be a good storyteller.
Good stories impact the heart, but even bad stories can make you think.
Learning to transform everything you want to communicate into stories, for example, is not the same say, I made ten million dollars last year then sharing and explaining the biggest challenges you overcome to make them.
Is not easy to find the right words for it to be honest, but learning to reflect on your past will improve the storyteller’s that live inside you, Why? first, because the most important stories come from mistakes, lessons, pain, smiles, tears, and emotions, and emotions make the past more valuable and memorable by smoothing words and tone.
Communication flow naturally makes you feel as if you were living that experience again, and the people that listen to you will notice that because now words come purely from your past biggest reflection.
And second, because they became easier to access, the more often your review your past, the biggest the lessons and the most valuable your persuasion become.

2. Use accurate facts.
True credibility in your words, makes people deal with the truth without feeling the pain to be wrong, no one likes to be wrong, is in our human nature to want always to be right.
Using personal or other people's stories and facts will lower your probability to include exaggeration in your testimonies making them more accessible to understand your real intentions.

3. Make use of great quotes.
Give other people credit for well-said phrases and use them in your favor, use them intentionally, and never forget that well-said things are those sentences that are hard to improve, so just use them because will significantly increase the meaning and uniqueness of your intentions.
?
4. Make use of oratory.
Oratory is a dramatic way of saying something, usually when you're passionate and you show real interest your words and tone include your emotions and if you make the right use of emotional oratory, beautiful sentences will come naturally along the way.
?
5. Deal in straight talk.
Tell things like they are, but be soft with your tone, a general rule to apply here is, the harder the words you use the softer the tone you should use.
Saying things in simple language is powerful but is a challenge for most people, but straight talk and thinking always came from great questions, so you need to learn to form good questions that make the simpler answer easier to access.
?
8. Present a challenge
We all respond to challenges, how fast can you get better, how fast can you learn, can you win?
Articulating challenges in the right way make people push themself to the boundaries of understanding and present.
?
This is an easy mental model no so easy to apply, but still, if you think is too complex to remember, I will let you go today with my golden rules for communication.
The most important thing to be great at persuasion is not talking is just listening.
