Life is simple, yet from a young age, we are conditioned to perceive it as difficult. We desire change in our lives, question why we may get them, and then go back to thinking the same, feeling the same, and acting the same. We go back to our old ways because that is all we know. It is what makes us comfortable. It gives us a sense of security and safety.
Have you ever wished to change something in your life — your looks, behavior, health, income, or relationships? I want you to know that it’s entirely possible. The challenge is that those seeking change often expose themselves to the same experiences and encounter people and environments that don’t support their desired transformation.
Your mindset plays a crucial role in shaping your life. What you feed your mind, whether positive or negative, influences your results. Today, I’ll explain how you operate and why your current life is the way it is. Patience and understanding, both towards yourself and others, are key to making lasting changes in any aspect of your life. Change is an ongoing process — a lifestyle that never stops.
You Are What You Repeatedly Believe And Tell Yourself Everyday
Your mindset is built from your mental attitude which consists of thoughts and beliefs about yourself, the world, and things like money, happiness, and love. To make a change in your life, you need to be fully aware of and assess your current thoughts and beliefs on the subject you want to change. For example, if you want to increase your income, question what might be holding you back from making that kind of money. Maybe it’s a belief instilled by your parents that money is scarce, or that money is the root of all evil.
We have all heard that one!
Money is a medium of exchange; it allows people and businesses to obtain what they need to live and thrive. It is not money that is root of all evil but it is the person who attaches greed to money. Reflect on where these beliefs originated from and if they are true.
You subliminally program your body into action.
What you repeatedly feed your mind matters. If you want more money, don’t surround yourself with people and an environment who speak negatively about money. The same applies to relationships, whether in love or at work. Consider a case where a person I worked with had issues with their boss. Internal issues that reflected itself as external issues. Instead of blaming her boss for stress and depression, the key was to change her internal conversations about her boss. The only one she was hurting was herself. She shifted her thoughts to love, harmony, and respect, envisioning a positive relationship. This ultimately made her feel different and act different when in the workplace. This simple change led to a peaceful and now thriving relationship.
If you truly desire to change your life, examine your current beliefs and reconstruct them accordingly. Changing your internal dialogue can have a profound impact on your results.
The Mind’s Image
What do you see when you envision your car? What about your home? You see exactly just those, your car and home. Now picture what your mind look like. It is not the image of the brain.
Let’s take a look below at the Mind’s Image.
Your mind has two parts: the conscious mind at the top and the subconscious mind at the bottom.
The conscious mind reasons and decides what ideas to accept or reject, based on what we see, hear, taste, touch, and smell. It also forms preferences based on this data.
The subconscious mind is the powerhouse of your life that holds your beliefs and shapes your mental attitude. It accepts everything the conscious mind feeds it, whether beneficial or harmful, without questioning. The subconscious mind is influenced by the repetition of the feelings associated with the thoughts that were accepted from the conscious mind.
The smaller circle below represents your body. It acts as the instrument of the mind. Ideas accepted by the conscious mind are impressed upon the subconscious through repetition and feeling. The subconscious then influences the body, driving it into action. Your actions finally determine the results in your life.
To change your life, change how you think, feel, and act.
Take a look of the life cycle every human creates.

Many people find themselves trapped in a life cycle, facing undesired outcomes while consistently thinking, feeling, and acting the same way. For instance, someone may declare, “I want to lose weight,” and skip essential steps by immediately taking action by hitting the gym and adopting a healthier diet. Although they may shed temporary weight, an internal voice would always say, “You’re fat,” even if it’s not true. Giving in to these negative thoughts brings them right back to the same cycle of thinking fat, feeling fat, and taking daily actions that contribute to their weight gain.
It’s crucial to recognize that change begins by transforming your thoughts first. You simply can’t change your results by taking different action. It is a mental game you must master before making the physical changes.
No matter what you do, everything in your life is consistent with the thoughts and beliefs you have of yourself, the world, and things.
You can’t outperform your thoughts and beliefs which are the foundation of who you are and where you are in life.
Loving And Accepting Yourself Is Vital
During my younger years, I faced a challenge related to my weight. In middle school, I was fat and always received fat jokes from my friends and my family. I didn’t feel good or think good about myself. I hated who I was and it destroyed my confidence and personality. Upon numerous doctor visits, I was informed about the need to address my weight issues for the sake of my well-being. I needed to be healthier, look healthier, and feel healthier. I finally reached a breaking point in my life and decided to take action. I committed to running a mile every day for an extended period and I created a new diet for myself that focused on greens and protein.
By the time I reached high school, I had transformed into a very lean figure. I was as skinny as a tree branch. Despite having a 6-pack, a well-defined chest, and a chiseled jawline, I remained discontent. I still hated who I was and was not satisfied with my progress. The echoes of past judgments lingered, and I found myself haunted by thoughts of being labeled as being fat. With in no time, I picked up the weight again and was drowned in my thoughts of insecurity. It became evident that true satisfaction required more than just physical transformation and taking action. But I needed to start the cycle of my life by changing how I thought about myself. Giving myself the love I deserved and accepting myself for who I am and was becoming.
To break free from this chain, I began changing the thoughts and beliefs I held about myself. I then took the action to create lasting change. Follow the cycle and you will surely be who you want to be.
Look at the example below of what we hold in our minds hardens into fact.
The interplay between our conscious thoughts, subconscious feelings, and physical actions can be likened to the intricate process of planting and nurturing a tree. Just as a gardener carefully selects a specific type of tree, our conscious minds engage in the deliberate choosing of thoughts. These thoughts serve as the seeds that will take root in the fertile soil of our subconscious.
Once planted, these thought-seeds find a home in the rich and receptive terrain of our subconscious mind. Here, our feelings act as the nourishing rain that provides life to the growing idea. The emotional landscape, similar to the soil’s fertility, determines the quality of growth. Consistent care and the appreciation of the inherent beauty within these thoughts act as the sunlight that fuels the growth process.
As the idea takes root and flourishes in the subconscious, a transformation occurs. Much like a tree’s growth is reflected in its branches and leaves, our subconscious influences our physical actions. The roots of our thoughts extend into the realm of behavior, shaping our actions and decisions. It is through the seamless integration of conscious thoughts, subconscious feelings, and purposeful actions that the growth process is harmonized.
In the end, the tree that emerges represents the culmination of this interconnected process. Our conscious intentions, nurtured by subconscious feelings and translated into purposeful actions, manifest as the tangible reality of the fully grown tree. The analogy underscores the profound connection between our mental landscape and the tangible outcomes in our lives, highlighting the importance of mindful cultivation for a flourishing existence.
All life forms strive to the max of its potential, except human beings. — Jim Rohn
Like planting a seed that grows into a tree or witnessing caterpillars transforming into butterflies, humans have the ability to exercise their limitless potential. However, unlike these life forms, we, as humans, possess the power of choice. Despite having abundant resources and creative abilities, we don’t always become our best selves. Our decisions are often influenced by what we’ve been taught, whether it’s for better or worse. The importance of this quote lies in its call to action. It inspires us to break free from self-imposed limitations and strive towards our utmost capabilities. Rohn challenges us to question why, as humans, we may not always live up to our limitless potential and encourages us to overcome obstacles that block our progress.
In conclusion, the profound wisdom encapsulated in the Golden Rule emphasizes the transformative power of our beliefs and self-talk. The notion that “You Are What You Repeatedly Believe And Tell Yourself Everyday” underscores the fundamental role our thoughts play in shaping our identity and influencing our actions. It serves as a timeless reminder that the narratives we construct within our minds hold the key to our personal growth and fulfillment.
In the journey of life, the Golden Rule guides us to be thoughtful creators of our inner thoughts, understanding that what we repeatedly believe forms the foundation of our reality. Building a strong and confident self starts with nurturing positive and empowering thoughts. On the flip side, giving in to self-limiting beliefs becomes obstacles to exercising our limitless potential.
In simpler terms, the Golden Rule encourages us to use the strength of positive thinking and constructive beliefs. It prompts us to consciously pick thoughts that match our goals, creating a connection between our inner thoughts and how we show up in the world. Ultimately, following this rule gives us the ability to shape a life that reflects the positive messages we tell ourselves every day, opening the path to a future influenced by the optimistic conversations we have with ourselves.

Wow, what a powerful, life changing article! EVERYTHING starts with our thoughts. We must reflect on our thoughts and prioritize the health of our minds even more than we do our bodies. Thank you for this!
