GOLDBECK SOLAR and ImWind Develop Agri-PV Park;KKR Acquires Majority Stake in Avantus, Secures $522 Million and More...

GOLDBECK SOLAR North America , in collaboration with Austrian renewable energy project developer Imwind, is set to build a five-megawatt agri-photovoltaic plant in Gaweinstal, located northeast of Vienna. The project, featuring 8,200 Trina tracker modules, aims to enhance solar energy yield and agricultural efficiency.


Avantus , a premier U.S. developer of utility-scale solar and solar-plus-storage projects, and KKR, a leading global investment firm, have announced the completion of KKR’s acquisition of a majority equity interest in Avantus. Alongside the transaction, Avantus has secured a $522 million development facility arranged by KKR Capital Markets and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC). This facility provides Avantus with the financial support needed to fuel its growth and execute its development portfolio, which now includes more than 30 gigawatts (GWdc) of solar and 94 gigawatt hours (GWh) of energy storage across the Western United States.


Fluence Energy, Inc. has inked an agreement with Excelsior Energy Capital, a prominent renewable energy infrastructure investor, to install 2.2 GWh of battery storage projects in the United States starting in 2025. These projects will utilize domestically manufactured batteries, modules, and supporting systems.


EDP Renewables North America LLC (EDPR NA), a leading renewable energy developer and a top five renewable energy owner and operator in the United States, along with Salt River Project (SRP) and Meta, unveiled the 200-megawatt (MW) Brittlebush Solar Park near Coolidge, AZ. The project’s entire capacity will support Meta’s data center in Mesa, AZ, marking the third renewable energy partnership between EDPR NA and Meta. Meta will also benefit from two other SRP resources: the 100-MW West Line Solar Facility and the 300-MW solar plus battery Eleven Mile Facility, all contributing to Meta’s 100% renewable and net zero goals.


Enlight Renewable Energy Ltd (ENLT) announced the financial close for the Energy Storage portion of its flagship Atrisco Solar and Energy Storage project, located outside Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. This milestone completes the financing and tax equity arrangements for the entire Atrisco project, following the financial close of the Atrisco Solar project in December 2023.
