Gold Star Sister- supports Friendship Center
Kim Larsen
Family Services Manager at Friendship Adult Day Care Center | Specializing in seniors with Dementia and TBI's.
My name is Diane Gulley and I am a Gold Star Sister and proud supporter of Friendship Center.
Have you heard of Gold Star mothers, sisters or other family members? The title, is reserved for families of military members who have died in the line of duty and meant to honor the service member’s ultimate sacrifice while acknowledging their family’s loss, grief and continued healing. I am comforted being such a family member.
Although my brother Frank died in Vietnam at the age of 18, had he lived he would have been an amputee.
I support Friendship Center because of the compassionate support and healing it gives me knowing our veterans are being cared for with weekly phone calls, virtual activities and Take Care Totes! These totes provide their home bound seniors (98% of whom suffer from some form of dementia) with activity sheets, snacks, games and toiletries. Knowing that Friendship Center provides for veterans is one thing but just think of what it also does to help the caregivers and their family members. There work is truly amazing. Please consider supporting Friendship Center, so that they can continue their important and compassionate community work!
