Gold Standard

Gold Standard

The organisers of London International Shipping Week, Shipping Innovation, are thrilled to welcome international law firm Watson, Farley & Williams (WFW) back as a Gold Sponsor of LISW25.

WFW advises on complex transactions and disputes through local knowledge and an integrated international network. The firm has a strong sector focus, combining its technical excellence with deep industry knowledge across energy, infrastructure and transport.

Sector focus has been at the heart of WFW’s strategy since the firm opened for business in 1982. Having started life as an asset finance boutique focussing on the maritime and aviation industries, its transport focus quickly expanded to other supply-chain led industries, most notably, renewable and conventional energy and associated infrastructure across these industries.

All aboard for LISW25

Shipping Innovation has chartered a fleet of classic Routemaster London buses to take Gala Dinner guests from the dinner venue at Evolution London in Battersea Park to transport hubs in Victoria, Westminster, and Waterloo from where they can continue their journeys by taxi or public transport. Each bus will leave the venue once full, drop guests off at their preferred transport hub, then return to collect more dinner guests, and so on, until all guests have left the venue.

This is a new, unusual and highly visible sponsorship opportunity that will add a classic London finale to the fabulous Gala Dinner evening on Thursday 18 September 2025.

Each London bus will carry a specially designed banner on the sides and back, and a message about LISW25 on the front destination panel. The LISW25 logo will appear next to the sponsor’s logo. The sponsor will also be able to choose some wording to accompany the logo. Before, during and after the event, this sponsorship is expected to attract a lot of attention via social media, press releases and email campaigns.

The cost of this unique sponsorship includes a Table for 10 at the LISW25 Gala Dinner. For more details, please contact Karen Martin (details below)

New Look

Stalwart LISW supporter UK Major Ports Group (UKMPG) has a new look. The group’s new logo is a modern and dynamic representation of the maritime industry, featuring elements including the front of a ship (symbolising strength and direction), a wave (reflecting the sea’s energy and constant movement), and a shield (signifying protection and stability). Additionally, the letters U and K are incorporated, emphasising national pride and identity.

Formed in 1993, UKMPG is the trade body for the UK’s major port operators and represents nine of the top ten UK port operators. The cohesive new design embodies the group’s commitment to innovation, security, and the enduring significance of the UK’s ports.

Chief Executive of UKMPG, Geraint Evans, who is a member of the LISW25 Steering Group, said: “Beyond their traditional role as gateways for trade, our ports are also centres of innovation and economic engines in their own right. They are bases for both new and traditional maritime industries as well as centres for a wide range of broader economic activities, all of which drive investment and create jobs and growth.

“UK ports are a critical component of the national supply chain and we are working with Government to ensure the industry remains robust and resilient enough to handle future challenges, as well as taking a leading role in maritime’s decarbonisation journey. Our new look has been created with a firm eye on this future.”
