One of Nigeria's bike-hailing companies, Gokada has shifted to food delivery as part of efforts to sustain the effects of the ban on Okada and Keke by the Lagos state government.
The company has refused to shut down its operation but instead diversified into food delivery services, joining the likes of Jumia food and others that have been in the business before their entry.
Gokada just launched Chop, there had been reports before that quoted the founder of the company saying the company is looking towards logistics and boat-hailing services.
The new product was rolled out to replace the passenger-lifting commercial services of the company and to make sure that the erstwhile Gokada pilots as they were called, were not dormant.
Chop just like the name suggests is aimed at offering food delivery services from merchants/restaurants to consumers.
A statement released on their twitter page read, ''We appreciate the unwavering support we’ve received so far from members of the public and our loyalists. We are currently exploring other business verticals which include logistics.
''We are registered for commercial purposes and not just restricted to bike hailing so expect more from us. We’ll be informing you of our product launch soon,” the statement read in part.
