Going Virtual! Your Ultimate Guide to Online Team Building

Going Virtual! Your Ultimate Guide to Online Team Building

Someone invites you for morning coffee, which eventually ends with your whole team lining up for their shot of espresso. And at lunch, you all gather for laughs and non-work-related talks, and at the end of the shift, you all find each other’s smiles as another productive day has ended. Tomorrow awaits to be conquered!

That seemed like centuries ago; for this time, it’s different. The pandemic did not only affect our work setting, but it had significantly impacted our in-person interactions. But that should not stop us from creating a team that considers collaboration as a second-nature and is equipped for challenges.

Turning Me to We

Isolation prevents the virus from spreading even further, and although this is favorable for public health, it prevents us from socializing. The months of loneliness can affect our mental health and, in consequence, our productivity at work. However, with virtual team building, we can turn “me” into “we”. Through virtual meetings, we are creating a breathable space for our employees and ourselves.

Stress Buster

Virtual team buildings are slightly different from the team building we know before. And it costs much less if none. We are giving our employees a moment to be themselves and have fun. Facing a computer or a laptop all day can be stressful, but we can turn that into something to be looked forward to with our virtual strategies.

Productivity All The Way

When we know that we are not alone, everything feels a lot better. That’s the same with virtual team-building activities. Apart from customers, our team is our backbone, and we need to strengthen them as often as possible, especially with our current circumstances. When a team is happy and motivated, productivity levels reach sky-high.

Here are a few activities you can try with your team:

  1. Virtual Team Bingo
  2. Feel nostalgia and competitiveness, enjoy cards filled with fun phrases, and don’t forget the rewards!
  3. Scavenger Hunt
  4. It’s a virtual “bring me something” game. Ask your team to find items and do challenges before time runs out.
  5. World Map Challenge
  6. Time for a geography test! Challenge your team to name countries. The player who calls most countries wins.
  7. Online Show & Tell
  8. Nothing beats a classic. Discover and develop your team’s storytelling skills with this activity.
  9. Two Truths and One Lie
  10. Give your team time to think of two truths about themselves and a lie. The winning point lies in knowing each other more.

Fun brings people together, so what are you waiting for? Save the date and turn your workplace into a smile factory. Don’t forget to enjoy!
