Going Too Far

Music videos are not readily accessible. There is more to learn from music videos than whatever is run on former music video channels. No reality show is as interesting as something Robbie Williams shot over a day or two long ago.

If Robbie had only quit while he was naked... It is interesting how confident he was throughout, how the rollerskating models ignored the only man in the room and the desire to be noticed led him to tear himself apart.

As he reduces himself to bare bones, the audience is impressed. How many employers do the same thing? Don't answer that. There is also a gambling allegory herein: things were going well until they weren't.

Know your limits. Others might enjoy that you pour your entire self into an effort. When there is nothing left; what will they applaud? They will find someone else to slash and burn when they should cultivate the talents of others. If you have to go that far to impress others it is not worth it.
