Going at the Speed of Stillness: In 2024, let's rest a lil' more and play some, too.

It's been 30 days of Social Media.
Of Instagram, more specifically.
I've promised myself to devote at least a month to each social platform. Because I get easily overwhelmed by content creation (throw your hands up if you're with me), and so I had to start somewhere.
In order to commit fully, I had to choose one.
But, one is good. One, for me, was a doable goal when I set it in mid-January. And, I've found that in the course of these New Year's resolutions, we often fail to complete the goals we set for ourselves because our resolutions are huge. They're almost so big that they become indigestible.
I saw a tweet the other day that said, "I love how in the winter my personal goals are like, 'change careers' and 'find meaning in life' and then in summer literally just 'look hot' and 'go swimming.'"
And it's true!
But, there's a reason behind that.
Friends, it's Winter. We are in the month of the winter solstice; of darkness; of introspection.
In the rest of nature, there is hibernation. There's rest. And we force ourselves back to doing immediately on January 1st when all of the rest of nature is sleeping.
Pushing yourself to take on these almost overwhelming changes is actually asking too much of yourself. Now is the time to take things slow. Now is the time to plan. Now is the time to release, more than anything.
The energy of winter is that of going within.?We, as we approach March and Spring are nearing the end of this darkness and silence out of which our soul's yearnings and new inspirations can eventually emerge.
Style is the art of dressing.
In the art of entrepreneurial style, creativity and business acumen intertwine to create a blend of personal expression and professional success. As a personal stylist who has turned into an entrepreneur, I don't just craft outfits for my clients; I help shape identities, foster confidence, and empower individuals to embrace their unique style journeys.
By embracing the fusion of creativity and business, we unlock the full potential of personal styling as a transformative force in the fashion industry.
But, there is planning. There are quarterly goals. There are lists. There's payroll. We are constantly comparing successes to others.
Because that is entrepreneurship.
But, it doesn't have to be.
I'm learning that business is more than work or commerce. Business (especially our own), are personal expressions of our energy, creativity, and time. We forget that rest and reflection produces even in stillness, because the intention of our input dictates the output.
And so, here's my suggestion. Plan but, plan easy.

Go easy on yourself.
Enjoy the bigness of possibility with your business.
Play a little.
Make this fun.
Remind yourself why you're doing this, again. Remind yourself of how courageous you are, and have had to be, to even begin this journey in the first place.
Try this.
It's February, so there's still time.
Pick one (both, because why not?):
For the first option (The Letter), I want you to write yourself a letter. This idea was given to me by Dana Strokovsky, who hosted an incredible Vision Boarding party at the end of last year. She instructed guests to write a letter to themselves dated December 31, 2024. Write in present tense of all the things you have accomplished this year. Fold the letter. Tuck it away. Read it on 12/31 and surprise yourself by all of your manifestations.
For the second, (The 'Ten Goals' List), I want you to write ten goals you want to accomplish this year. Write them like you already have them, (ex. I love my new car; I am so grateful for all of my new clients; I sleep peacefully in my new home, etc.), and then choose one. Let your intuition guide you, because whichever calls you the most is the one you select, and then you break that into ten more goals.
Answer for yourself the steps you need to take to achieve that one goal, and be intentional about completing these tasks daily.
Sometimes, it isn't about what you need to do, it's about who you need to become.
(This is an exercise I just shared with all of my long-term clients).
It's Winter, after all. We are still. We are silent. We are connecting with ourselves and deciding what's next. We are in a space of stillness as we allow whatever is yearning to emerge and be birthed from our imaginations to do so; to unfold like...like petals.
Like, CLOTHESPETALS.
Does this resonate? I'm eager to hear if it does; and which manifestation technique you've chosen. Will you write a letter to yourself, or write your list...or both?
Whichever is calling you.
And now, rest.
