This is going to 'ruffle' a few Feathers, will it ruffle yours?

This is going to ruffle a few feathers but it’s got to be said, spending months, even years, (perhaps even hiding away somewhere during that time) is a terrible way to write your book and this way of thinking, that it does take a long time to write, actually prevents a lot of great people from even starting to write, because they think, right now, they don’t have that time.

It is just not true, and people who get my help can get the writing done in as little as a day, (that’s by using content they’ve already written and fits perfectly into the book they are writing) or it takes a couple of weeks, by following a structured framework and method of writing.

The secret is simple:

You start with a clearly defined outcome in mind. The outcome you want to achieve by having your book…

1… Immediately helps ‘sort your thoughts’, and by that I mean, you will be able to clear your mind of that ‘jumble’ of thoughts, and know what to write about and what you actually NEED or do NOT need to put into your book.

BANG, just like that!

So many people overthink this part. As an established coach, consultant or expert in your field and someone who’s getting a regular flow of clients you are already using your method every day and are talking about it and how you work with and help your clients.

Writing a book is the sort of ‘next level’ for you to bring it all together and let the world know what you know and do so more people get to know about you and your successes for clients.

2… Secondly, the outcome you want to achieve with your book determines the quality of your book, because when you know WHAT needs to go into your book, there is no need for any ‘whaffle’, and by that I mean ‘filler’ words or filler chapters to make the book ‘look’ good.

You’ll write about what exactly your reader will want to read about you, your method and how it helps your clients.

The misconception about the time it takes to write a ‘good’ book comes from the outdated image of fiction writing.

Sure, a fictitious story needs to be well thought out and prepared with research so your ‘characters’ don’t do something in chapter 10 they never mentioned they were going to in chapter 2, for example.

This is NOT how you, a highly qualified, established coach or consultant writes a book that is to share your expertise and opens your legacy for the world stage to know about the unique outcomes and benefits you achieve with your clients.

If that is the type of book you want to write, one that shares your expertise and leaves your legacy and you think it takes too much of your time right now, you can ask for my help because with my method, it takes weeks, not months or years and I’ve already touched on one part of how that works earlier in this post, which is starting on clearly defining what you want your book to do for you.

So, simply book a time and day if you would like my help to:

? Tell your Story ?

? Share your Vision ?

? Impact & Inspire with your Book

Let's start with a one-on-one call and discuss how your book idea aligns with the outcome you have in mind for your book.

Simple and solid advice. There is this stereotype of an author locked away with a typewriter but clearly it doesn’t have to be like that.

Keep ruffling those feathers! It is crucial to find out what NOT to include in your book. Such content is not necessary rubbish, it might well be the stuff for another book.

Even though I write professionally, I never saw the simplicity that's involved in writing a book. And yes, writing it in a day I'm sure would ruffle a few feathers, but seriously, who's got time to spend months let alone weeks wanting to write a book. Slaving over a typewriter has an outdated romantic notion to it, doesn't it? What's your thoughts on dictating and transcribing, do you think that would aid the process?
