Going out on a high

Going out on a high

It’s me again, sharing my last update from our final days in Paris.

Me and Hope have had the best time along with our new friends Roo and Jeff who are from Devon and Dorset.

We had a lovely couple of days rest and stayed in the Police Kennels in Paris. There was a big paddock, so we were able to run about to our hearts content. It felt so amazing to have a good run and a few days off work. Don’t’ get me wrong, I love working, but I also love whizzing about and feeling free!

After our days off it was back to business. We went to a huge media centre and had to search lots of rooms and buildings there. It was great to have a change of scenery and to search some different places. We worked with the same French search team, who are called “Le Gendarmerie” and who we have all became friendly with. They call out our names when we get out of the vehicle as they know us. I like to waddle up to them with my tail wagging and then roll onto my back for a tummy tickle.

On our last day I sensed we were off to somewhere very special. I could tell as Dad was frantically polishing his boots first thing!

We ?arrived in a very grand street and a man came out and check our documents. The huge wooden doors were opened, and we found ourselves in The British Embassy.

There were lots of people and lots of excitement. Hope did a demonstration of what we do to show to the onlookers. We then had some questions and got lots of attention and strokes.

Dad seemed a bit sad afterwards as its possibly my last working day. I’m retiring in August as I’m getting on a bit and I’m not sure I’ll have to search again.

Cuddles with Dad

He gave me a cuddles, told me he loved me and thanked me for being the best dog. Nothing much is changing for me as I’m staying with Dad when I retire and will become a family dog.

Dad has a new dog that he has been training. I love seeing the youngsters coming through, they are so enthusiastic and full of beans.

But for me, my time is done. My experience in Paris has been amazing and I couldn’t think of a better and more enjoyable end.

So for the last time…

Merci a tous d’avoir lu mon blog. Au revoir
