Going from 0-100 in culture
0-100 in x seconds is a term used mainly In the automotive world. I use it also in the cultural world when I speak about different cultural attitudes to time.
When I travel the world training other people to work with Israelis and we get to the issue of time, usually there's a lot of discussions.
To start off they can't believe that Israel is probably the fastest-changing society in the world. When I start giving them the examples (re: today's events), they understand!!! and then we look at how that affects their day-to-day work with them.
How do you manage effectively your time, your tasks when in a matter of a few hours, half a country is disabled and people you work with can't do their job properly.
Of course, on the one hand, this can be a very big challenge for others working with Israelis, on the other hand, I want them to understand that this can also have great advantages. Like for example - Israelis ability to cope with an ever-changing global business world and giving the concept of 'Agile' a whole new meaning. There is a reason why we are so good at immediate solutions.
No culture is perfect! All cultures have strengths and weaknesses! Great organizations and people who know how to compensate for weaknesses and even utilize them are the ones who have CQ.
