God..........We have a problem!!!

God..........We have a problem!!!

As the world wakes up this Sunday morning, all thoughts are of India, all Prayers are for Indians and its uphill struggle with the COVID19 Pandemic, which has taken an upward spiral in the past two weeks. There are people in queue for Oxygen Cylinders, patients on Emergency beds waiting in the corridors for beds in Hospitals, COVID19 suspects waiting for their RTPCR tests, as Vaccination Booths run out of vaccines. Everyone is searching for whom to blame while our Front-line Super Heroes continue saving lives without either rest or respite. The Healthcare system has cracked gaping wide and the water is flooding in from all corners, whilst our Politicians were busy taking a dip in the Ganges or showing their mask less faces at vulgar Rallies teaming with thousands of paid volunteers. All this has led to what experts are calling an impending Tsunami by mid of May.

This seemed impossible as the first wave had waned, and we became invincible once again like Superman, brandishing our tattered cape for everyone to see. Our kryptonite was the arrogance leading to not preparing for the second battle, which the experts warned for to be just around the corner.

When we wake up nowadays, we dread phone calls lest it's news of someone we love in troubled waters, and when we sleep at night, we are scared of how much more worse tomorrow shall be. Humanity has never been brought to its knees like this time around, and the worst part is, that we haven't seen the worst yet.

While we always pride on our ability to remain positive under any scenario, we haven't prayed for a Report to be negative like how we do nowadays.

What happened to the months of lull between the first and second wave, where did that time go, it went in exporting Oxygen, not increasing beds and distributing the vaccine to over 80 countries. Someone would eke out a Nobel Peace Prize out of it, while cremation grounds are burning round the clock. We are getting scores of calls pleading for help in getting beds and oxygen for their loved ones. Hospital CEOs are breaking down on TV while some Hospitals are discharging patients as their backup oxygen supply also got exhausted. This horror story keeps getting murkier every day and we watch helplessly as the results of our gross inactions are showing up in the Mortality Registers. We haven’t learnt from Chinese transgressions, Pakistani back stabbings and Scams selling all and sundry, so I am not sure if we shall learn anything from this horror story, so that we are better prepared the next time a Virus torments us in the future.

Heroes have risen, who shall be beaten black and blue the next time a patient dies in a Hospital, villains have shown their colors again and mere mortals have dropped off the lifeboat like fruit flies in a frenzy.

Hope has never been so less, and panic has never been busier, as mankind fights a losing battle in the country where we have lived all are lives, but not done enough to have allowed this virus to run amuck upon us.

But till the day, the number of good deeds outweighs the ills that ache the society, we shall look forward to the sunrise to free us from this ghastly night, however long it shall ravage us and our loved ones. I shall not lose hope, though many do around me, only because mankind has risen from the ashes before, and shall do this time too. I implore all of you to do more than the needful, help beyond your grasp and stay hopeful, as this virus feeds voraciously on our hopelessness, and we can’t show that chink in the armor at any cost.

The human spirit has shown to be capable of recovering from the heights of adversities and torrid times, and this one dwarfs all that we have endured in the past. This is Apocalypse in stare down competition and humanity can't afford to blink first. There is our very existence as we know it, at stake, and the enemy is a Virus which changes armor for every occasion. Israel and New Zealand have shown, that if an entire country shows combined grit and resilience, victories can be claimed. But no celebrations yet, as they may be too premature, hence we can't lower our guard, however tempting the urge.

Life has taught us many lessons in the past, none more painful than this one, but have we learnt enough to not have history repeat its havoc, is something that's in your hands and mine. And together we shall keep the learnings to form a dam, which shall hold the water from flooding our lives again.

The road to recovery may be long and winding, the wounds may gape for months, but the heads should not fall down, the smiles should not disappear and we shall overcome, that’s a promise I make to you with the hope, you shall make the same to me too.

My heart bleeds for the helpless on both the sides, the patient who is fighting for oxygen and the health care system that are short of oxygen and are contemplating a decision about who to priortize.. I am also angry at the 'chaltha hai' attitude of the masses who shunned the covid related precautions. It is not only the responsibility of the government or the health care system but each one of us is accountable. I am a realistic optimist, we can hope for the best when we abide by the rules, when we don't indulge in panic buying, when we can help each other to break the chain. This is the worst that we have seen in recent times and also this is the time to RISE by taking ownership of things we can control. We can beat the toughest of the tough if we all come together in this fight.

Very well explained the scenario and with great belief I wakes up daily that today or later our all front end warriors will and definitely will bring us out of all this mess with our support of keeping ourself safe atleast by taking proper precautions and again we will start our happy lives of before Corona.
