GoDaddy DMARC set up instructions - step by step.
Step 1
Log in to GoDaddy. Click on the?Manage?button next to?Domains.
From the?DNS?menu, select?Manage Zones.
Select your domain or search for it using the provided search box.
Step 2
Click on?Add?to create a new DNS record.
Note: If there is another '_dmarc' entry there already, DO NOT add a new one. Click on EDIT icon and edit the entry. There can ONLY be one DMARC record. You can't have multiple DMARC records.
Step 3
In the Type box select?TXT.
Enter _dmarc as the ‘host’. Enter your custom EmailAuth TXT record in the?TXT value?box. (a DMARC record generator can be found here: https://emailauth.io/dmarc-generator)
Keep the TTL to 1 hour.
and you are done!
It can take up to 72 hours for these records to propagate and for the first set of reports to arrive. More often than not, it is pretty fast so you should be able to see the DMARC record reflected within an hour. To check, go to https://www.emailauth.io and enter your email address to check.
Why does it take time? This is due to DNS caching and the fact that the ISPs mostly send one report each day. This can take from 24 - 72 hours.
