God At Work In Unconventional Ways

What do you think of when you hear (or see) the word "Unconventional"?

Merriam-Webster gives this definition: not based on or conforming to what is generally done or believed, being out of the ordinary.

The word "unconventional" has two meanings:

  • First, it means "not following conventional rules or customs."
  • Second, it describes someone who acts differently from others.

Unconventional Ministry is both of these things: it's not following the practices or customs of church life as they are generally understood, but it also describes those who are willing to act differently from other Christians.

Unconventional ministry is not just about doing something differently than what people expect—it's about looking for God's presence in unexpected places so that we can see him working where others haven't looked before.

The Unconventional Ministry Newsletter brings you a weekly article on that week's Unconventional Ministry Podcast topic of ministry not based on or conforming to what is generally done. Of those who are willing to act differently to help bring change and a solution to the problem!

Here are 10 podcast episodes of Unconventional Ministries taking place that are outside the local Church and being done by those who are willing to act differently to make a difference.

Many children in the Middle East and North Africa grow up surrounded by conflict and uncertainty, and they desperately need to know that God loves them. All four SAT-7 satellite television channels have programming for children, introducing them to the Gospel during their crucial early years. Through its dramas, talk shows, cartoons, and worship programs, the SAT-7 children's programs provide a safe, positive space for its young viewers. Even parents from non-Christian backgrounds say that SAT-7 is the only channel they trust their children to. SAT-7 even helps displaced children continue their education by providing a daily on-air school. Learn more at www.sat7usa.org
