God Knows Your Pain

God Knows Your Pain

The Serenity Prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference.

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." - 2 Corinthians 12:9

Over 400,000 people and still counting have died nationwide from the coronavirus. This is not just an enormous number of deaths, remember it's someone's mother, father, sister, brother, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, grandmother, grandfather even children. Was someone in your family affected by the coronavirus or was it a friend? I don't know anyone who has not been affected by covid-19. I lost two cousins during this disease. If you don't know anyone touched by this virus than you are truly blessed. We mourn the death of our loved ones and pray for those still hospitalized for weeks.

"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:7

In a year full of chaos, fear and confusion take time to discover clarity in prayer. Focus on what really matters God, family and friends not the things we accumulated throughout the years. Consumed with overwhelming sorrow when unable to visit or say final goodbyes to loved ones. In lost we truly learn to love, showing warmth and affection to those who are still with us. Surviving grief gives us gratitude although memories will linger. Hope will ensure our pain was not endured in vain.

I share my favorite poem The Serenity Prayer as a reminder that God has not forsaken you. Sometimes I read it daily to lift me up keeping my mind on Jesus giving me hope for tomorrow. May it reinforce your faith giving you strength as God mends your broken heart. In Jesus Name ... Amen

"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." - Joshua 1:9
