God Hides Himself

God parted the Red Sea and allowed a whole nation to cross through on dry land revealing an invisible God at work. His very presence was evident to all.
Even though God is spirit and is invisible to our eyes, we can feel the very presence of God in our life’s. We discern His holiness and our sin. When we came to Christ we understood our need for mercy and forgiveness of God. He was never more present.
However, sometimes God hides himself from even the people He loves. This was distressing to David.
“Why do You stand far away, Lord? Why do You hide?Yourself?in times of trouble?” (Psalm 10:1 NASB).
David sees wickedness all around and asks “where is God?”. God is not always front of mind during the course of an average day, much less when tragedy strikes. In fact, how many people woke up this morning and didn’t even give God one thought? Sometimes God hides himself from Christians.
Often, God is no further from you during these times compared to when things are going smoothly for you. He is hiding himself for a purpose. His purpose is strengthening your faith.
Take comfort that we will always find Him if we just search for him using our whole heart(Jer. 29:13). God displays Himself to all who search for Him as hidden treasures (Prov. 2:4–5). Our God is the God of deliverance!
