“GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CANNOT CHANGE, COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN AND WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE”.

This might had been the motto with which a young boy of 10 years started his journey from Meerut to Dehradun, all alone and in darkness too as he was not imparted with color vision. He was bestowed with a mind and heart to ponder over the extreme rigidities of life. With this he responded to the bleak world with resilience- forging ahead, piercing all darkness. He was born blind on 15th July 1950 in Meerut City. But he did not permit his deformity to hinder development. He was first admitted to Andh Mahavidhyalay, Delhi for his primary education. He then passed his high school in 1968 from Model School for the visually handicapped, Dehradun. During his school days, he actively participated in various indoor and outdoor activities winning many prizes. He twice won the Dr. Sampoornananda Vaad Vivaad Pratiyogita, held only for senior wing students, thus making Meerut Mandal overall winner. He did not deter by the adversities, as he wanted to stand on himself without any support. To establish himself, he sold things in trains running from Meerut to Dehradun. Even at temples, he used to sell articles to earn his living as he used to be a self-reliant person. He completed his intermediate in 1970 from NAS Inter College, Meerut. Through his will power and positive approach, he achieved his graduation degree in 1972 from one of the biggest college of that time- Meerut College. While undergoing graduation, he participated in all India drive for blind people to protests in front of parliament to accomplish the proper reservation for blind in government jobs. He accomplished his Post Graduation in Philosophy in 1974 from same college. He carved a niche for himself during college days where he was adjudged the best student, best speaker, best chess player and best boy of the college and university. He was confab with Convenorship of Kavya Goshthiya organized by Akhil Bhartiya Darshan Parishad.

The one who was a written off by the society has indeed come a long way. Apart from educational qualification, he ventured into the professional competence also. He pursued four year integrated course in Indian Classical Vocal Music and Instrument (Tabla). He completed Senior Diploma in Sangeet from Prayag Sangeet Samiti and received felicitation from Bhatkhandey Sangeet Vidyapeeth, Lucknow. He also bagged Sangeet Pravishkha from Gandharva Mahavidhayala Mandal.

He holds a burning desire of acquiring wisdom and then transferring it to others. With this perception, he laid the foundation of Rosemary Institute bearing Swami Vivekananda thought “ARISE, AWAKE, AND STOP NOT TILL THE GOAL IS REACHED”. Saplings are nurtured here with utmost care and vision to make fruitful personalities of highest caliber for society. The people who had strained at Rosemary have become substantiate white collar informal ace in their own right- Asha Gupta, Suman Sharma, Pramod Karnwal, Deepak Gupta, Vandna Gupta, Aparna Saxena (IAS Officers), Kalpana Saxena, Deepak Tyagi (PCS Officer), Dr. Aadesh Sharma, Dr. Girish Pahwa (MBBS Doctors), Maj Gen Sanjay Soi, Col. Muktesh Sharma, Col. Amardeep Tyagi (Army Officers) and Sanjay Sharma, Mukesh Gupta, Rajat Dua, Sanjay Chaudhary (Customs Officers). Many renowned journalists and Editors of print and electronic media have studied in Rosemary. The list of IAS/PCS officers, army officers is endless. Rosemary is a tree of learning where students are nurtured by him. It is a platform of self-expression where the hidden talents are converted into sprouting brains.

Apart from nurturing young minds, he also associated himself with the social service. He provides free basic amenities along with education to physically and visually handicapped students to make them self-reliant. He also arranges for the marriages and re- marriages of widows, divorcees and economically driven families. It is his hobby to help the people who are in influx and requires someone to uplift them.

He was also commissioned as Chairman of Rotary Club, Meerut. He is a lifetime member of U.P. Darshan Parishad, Sahitya Lok and Sangeet Samaj. He was once a member of Advisory Committee of Young Advertisers Club. He was also the Joint Secretary of Meerut College Darshan Parishad. He fixtured himself as Vice Chairman of Students Union, Meerut College. He even engaged himself in Rashtriya Bhasha Prachar Sabha. He is also the President of Sangeet Bharti affiliated to IPTA. He is a cesspool and conglomeration of dedication, devotion and discipline. He is a statesman who has built up himself by his own exertion; he resembles a kite which rises against the wind and not with it.

For his incessant efforts and unflinching services he is rendering, being venerated by the multifarious National and International organizations. He was accorded with illustrious T.P. Jhunjhuwala Award- 1995

for outstanding contribution to the service of society, conferred by the then P.M. Shri Chandra Shekhar. He was presented with Subhash Ratna Award for Best Teacher, conferred by the then Lt. Gen. J.M. Kapoor. He was again bestowed with Subhash Ratna award for marvelous contribution to social service, given by the then Ajit Singhji, BKD leader and Social Worker. He was honored with All India Management Council Super Intellectual Award- 1997 for outstanding achievement and significant contribution to mankind. He was awarded as Eminence Teacher- 2005 award by Haryana Handicapped and Women Welfare Department, Panipat. He was vouchsafed with All India Confederation of the Blind, Millennium Award- 2000 for being an self-employed person, presented by the then Vice Chairman Planning Commission K.C. Pant. He was decorated with M.N. Roy Award 2010 as Best Teacher, conferred by the present Governor of U.P. Mr. B.L. Joshi. He was entrusted with Vijay Manav Seva Puraskar 2010, for social welfare, conferred by Vijay Manav Seva Sansthan, Received State Award for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities-2019 by Department Of Empowerment Of Persons With Disabilities Government Of Uttar Pradesh

He won honorary fellowship from Lucknow Sangeet Samiti. He was certified with fellow membership of All India Management Council. He was honored by NIVH Dehradun, as the best student in 50 years. He felicitated by Bharat Vikas Parishad, Meerut. He was honored by Meerut Telecom Association in 2007. He was Kudoded by Institute of Financial Planning and Business Management in 2008. He was bestowed by Sahitya Sanskritik Parishad, CCSU Meerut.

Nonetheless to say that the character who is performing this yeoman’s service by enabling all to reap the benefits has been providing the nation with the radiant future in form of expedite students. He delivered lectures on Personality development at Delhi Public School Meerut. He manageresses as Chief Guest at Annual Convocation of Army School Meerut. He was premiered as Guest of Honor at Annual Cultural programme of CCS University. He paramounted as numero uno at AICB Silver Jubilee National Consultation on employment for visually challenged event chaired by former President APJ Abdul Kalam. He has written a compilation of 40 successful stories which was released by the then President of India.

To impart his knowledge nationwide, he has written career counseling blogs for Dainik Jagran. He has also written various motivational editorials in Yuva Column, Amar Ujala, The Times of India, Hindustan Times and YMCA magazine. His paper has been selected for Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam memorial lecture on blind people from all over India. He has appeared as special guest in Sahara News, Ankho Dekhi on Aaj Tak, Drishti programme and Nazar ya Nazariya on Doordarshan. His inspirational voice used to be heard at every home through Akaash Vaani.

Recently, he becomes a founding father of R.A.Y Education, where he lead stress on technological advancement in imparting education. He himself started teaching the students through multimedia, as he is fully versed with the working of computer and internet connectivity. He is acting as a mentor and Guest Lecture for Radha Govind Group of Colleges, BIMT College, Subharti University and Chaudhary Charan Singh University.

He is the cesspool of probity, integrity, honesty, patience and perseverance. He has proved that if you believe your mind can move mountains. For the society, he serves as an exemplary and the medium of acquaintances. The noble matter is that the success of this legend multiplies itself through assisting others in rising from the obscurity to the state of recognition. Continuing with this tradition he is executing those words of Robert Frost-

“The Woods Are Lovely, Dark and deep; I have Promises to Keep, Miles to go before I sleep and Miles to go before I sleep”.
