God gets it all.
Rita Khayat is a superwoman. She is an accomplished IT executive heading up Asana's PMO, Strategy, and Operations. She also founded a nonprofit called Tabitha Reach, which equips women in developing countries with educational, social, and economic support. She was widowed early and raised three awesome kids as a single mom while serving in several leadership roles at her church. She has the kind of home where everyone feels loved and welcomed. When asked how she does all this, the answer is clear.
"I am never alone. My God is my helper. I have seen him work miracles in my life again and again. Not that there have not been difficulties. Like any executive, I constantly face difficult meetings, difficult people, and challenging business situations. So, I pray continually. I pray for our company leadership, for revenue, for my team, and breakthrough ideas. God gets it all. Sometimes, he might answer through a scripture verse or something in a sermon. Sometimes, it might take longer than I like, but I have learned that God wants you to continue petitioning him when you care about something."??
Recently, two of my favorite Christian artists, Natalie Grant and Cory Asbury, released a cover of Dear Evan Hansen's beautiful song, You Will Be Found. The words of hope underscore what Rita shares so beautifully. Even on our worst days at work or home, God has us. Take a listen here.
Even when the dark comes crashing through
When you need a friend to carry you
When you're broken on the ground
You will be found
So let the sun come streaming in
'Cause you'll reach up, and you'll rise again
If you only look around
You will be found
Out of the shadows
The morning is breaking
And all is new
It's filling up the empty
And suddenly, I see that
All is new
You are not alone
