God will get you through the crud

Psalm 119:50 My comfort in my suffering is this:?Your promise preserves my life.

I received some tough news from a friend and client earlier this week that he lost his wife very unexpectedly. He shared with me his anger and frustration with God and his deep pain. I shared with him that it is ok to be angry. God created it to let us know when we are unhappy with a situation. We can even share with God that we are angry with Him (ask Job about this), but we can't give up on Him. We sometimes don't know why we are on a course that leads us through the crud of life, but I can't imagine doing it without the promise and strength of God. I think our frustration comes from praying the wrong question. We shouldn't ask 'Why am I here?!?'... There is no answer that can come from this and be affective and helpful. I think the better question is, 'Now that I'm here... what do you want me to do?'. Some of the best stories are the results of going through the crud of life. To my friend and all of you going through the 'crud'... may God help you through your journey and may it lead to a story that is awesome and ultimately peace. May God bless your day!
