God Does Answer Prayer

God Does Answer Prayer

God Does Hear and Answer Prayer

Jeremiah 33:3 (God speaking) Call on me, and I will answer, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

God is speaking to His prophet. The all-powerful God of the universe who cannot lie makes this personal promise. God is also the Father of all His children, those who believe on His son Jesus Christ and are born again into His family. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become sons of God, even to them that believe on his name, 13. Which were born, not of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. We must then approach our Father in faith, presenting our petitions to Him. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him, for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Conditions of prayer:

You might be surprised to discover that, for the child of God, tithing is important.

Malachi 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 9. Ye are cursed with a curse, for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. 10. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. for

We need to pray with thanksgiving:

?I Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing. 18. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication let your requests be made known unto God. 7. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Our prayers must focus on God’s desires:

James 4:2 Ye lust, and have not; ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain; ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. 3. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

Prayer can give us victory over Satan:

I Peter 5:8 Be sober; be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he can devour. Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. 11. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. The Lord Jesus instructs us to pray in the “Lord’s prayer” for protection. Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.? We need to pray to overcome Satan. Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. 18. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

We can pray for all our needs:

Hebrews 4:15 For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16. Let us therefor come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

We must pray in the name of Jesus.

This is more than simply tacking on His name to the conclusion of our prayers, but praying in a way that is compatible with His desires for us. Remember that prayer is bringing our desires into line with what God wants for us so that God is answering prayers that have originated in Him. John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14. If ye ask anything in my name, I will do it. John 16:23 And in that day, ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. 24. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and y shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Remember, Jesus is praying for us:?

Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. I Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus.

Jesus as creator created the entire world in 7 days. As redeemer, He secured our salvation in around 33 years. But as intercessor, He has been praying for us for over 2000 years and is still praying for us. This should be a great encouragement for us to be faithfully praying to God.
