Have you ever set a goal for yourself, and then found that you don't achieve it? That would be pretty disappointing! We all have goals, but if we don't take action on them, they will never come to fruition. Goals require action, so the first step is to determine what it is that you really want in life and what steps you need to take to make that happen. Below are some tips on how to create an effective plan for achieving your goals:
Goal setting is the difference between people who succeed and people who fail.
Goal setting is the difference between people who succeed and people who fail. If you haven't set goals for yourself, then you'll never achieve your dreams. You need to set goals that are specific, measurable and achievable (SMART).
You should also be realistic when setting your goals; if it's too easy for me to do it won't be rewarding enough for me when I achieve them.
If you don't take action, you can't achieve your goals.
You must take action to achieve your #goals . If you don't, they will remain dreams and fantasies instead of reality.
Don't just think about it; do it! Don't get stuck in analysis paralysis where you analyze every possible outcome and end up doing nothing. Don't be afraid to fail; learn from your mistakes and move on with life!
There are 2 tiers of goals. Short term goals, and long-term goals.
The first step to achieving a goal is to determine what it is that you really want in life.

For example: If your goal is to lose 20 pounds in three months, then each of these smaller goals can be broken down into even smaller steps. These steps should be something that can be achieved within a week or two (depending on how big the goal is), measurable (so it's clear when/if it has been achieved), and with a deadline attached so there's no wiggle room if something comes up or gets delayed along the way. For example: "lose 2 pounds by Sunday" or "eat healthier meals at least 5 days this week."

There are three types of goals: short term process, mid range objective and long term outcomes.
Short term goals are the things you want to achieve in the next month or two. These can be small tasks such as reading a book or completing an assignment. They could also be larger projects like starting a business or learning a language. Mid range objectives are typically 6-12 months away from completion and require more planning than short term ones because they require more time and effort to complete successfully. Examples include writing a novel, losing weight, quitting smoking etc... Last but not least are long term outcomes which are often 5-10 years away from being achieved but don't require much work since they rely heavily on luck rather than skill or knowledge (ie winning lotto).
