Goals and Doggedness

Looking back at all the social media results that I've collated since the start of this project LinkedIn is strangely the one that is suffering the most. It's strange as the majority of people on here will be businessmen/women who are actually on the site to do business instead of the Facebook or Twitter masses who are usually there for a quick trip on dopamine (at least according to the video below).

Seeing this terrible trend and learning from the valuable time Paul (psychology) has spent with me I've really started to look at my goals and have begun to break them down. Ok, it's not rocket science what I've been told as there are a million different tools that help you do the same, it just required someone explaining clearly and concisely the what and why. It's something I've started to take into other areas such as getting fitter, spending more quality time with friends/family, etc all things that are my goals.

The other thing that has come out of those conversations is the fact you have to just have to do it. Doggedness is the word that comes to mind (yes I know it's in the title :P). Just because you have the best intentions, the best tools, even the best support, if you don't have that desire and constant drive to continue then there is no future in that goal.

So hats off to Paul who has shown me the way, and here's to doggedly searching for a sponsor to climb that mountain that has been evading me so far!

Notes:

- link to Pauls website and what he does https://www.performwell.co.uk/

- Chimera racing is the name of the new project that Hannah Stodel and I have started together. The eventual goal is to have two Brits on the start line of the Vendee Globe one looking to win it and the other to be the first to do it one handed, literally.
