It’s the beginning of a new week! One of my favorite things to do at the beginning of a week is to set INTENTIONS for my week. I take a moment to pause, get centered, and write down how I want to feel and what I want to accomplish over the week.
Then, I take this additional step because just setting Intentions is not enough. I take the time to GOAL SET. I have a very specific strategy when Goal Setting. Taking the Intentions I set, I then begin to work backwards and break down the Intention into smaller, more manageable goals. Sometimes, I go even further and break down the Goals into Macro and Micro goals so that I can get very clear, actionable steps. With each step, I write out a deadline of when it needs to be completed and how I am going to measure whether the step has been effectively achieved. This is taking the SMART GOAL structure and stepping it up a notch. I also write out the OBSTACLES that may get in the way so that I can create a plan to overcome them as well as the SUPPORT I will need in order to be successful. Sometimes this support comes from loved ones or research I need to do or work with my Coach (Yes, even coaches have a coach).
All this information becomes my road map for the week. The map helps me to stay on course and be able to redirect when I need to.
I would love to hear what your intentions are for the week and how you plan to create Goals to achieve your intentions! Share them in the comments below.
