“I don’t need to set goals, I already have a plan!”
This was the first thing Peter told us in our first meeting.
Immediately I realized people don’t know what they don’t know, because most people live in Automatic.
Peter (like me a couple of years ago) was confused that setting goals, and making a plan is almost the same thing.
Setting goals is, at least for me, the first step to a journey to my freedom!!! Yes , it was a big aha moment for me when I realized that most of the time I was working on the goals and plans that my boss had set for the team, however they were not mine.
What do you really want?
Answering this question opens a whole new world of awareness to our potential, discovering what we want to have, be or do without thinking or worrying about the circumstances around us.
Set a goal, give us clarity and calm because you are taking control of your life, focus on a purpose that inspires us to continue growing even against adversity.
If you can visualize yourself in possession of what you want, living the life of your dreams then you have additional energy to keep on the journey to your goal.
You can not have a plan if you don’t have a goal. On the other hand you need to be careful that the plan is yours and not somebody else's.
If you know someone trapped on the hamster wheel on the verge of burning out and unsure if the grind is...”worth it” please share this post with them and who knows, it might help shed light on the best path forward.
