Goal Setting Compass

Goal Setting Compass

A holistic approach to goal setting!

End of year newsletters mostly contain all sorts of goodies relative to goal setting for the upcoming year am I right? We reflect on the numbers, harp on projections and focus on key performance strategies that will ultimately support what business “growth” in the new year should look like. Whereas, I agree, all of that is absolutely necessary; as we end one chapter of our book and begin another, being clear and becoming complete is vital to overall life success and I’m going to tell you why…

  • When we do not acknowledge what was accomplished, we diminish past successes so they cannot be fully enjoyed – we only get this one life, why not do everything we can to enjoy it??
  • Secondarily, if we intend on setting higher goals in the upcoming year, incompletions trigger repetition of past negative lessons. Those unresolved conflicts can directly undermine next year’s productivity!

In conclusion - most people rarely do these kinds of exercises and thus carry incompletions and conflicts with them, destined to repeat them.

Are you ready to. . .

  • reflect, assess and acknowledge yourself and your life from a place of honesty, self-care and love.
  • set the stage for envisioning and eventually mapping out the right action plan to experience your best year ever.
  • create a theme to carry out throughout the year that leaves you intrinsically motivated to being the very best version of yourself
  • walk away with a tangible, actionable master plan outlining the who, what, where and when to make 2024 your best. year. ever!

This is one of the most powerful gifts you can give yourself this year!

  9. Who or what, other than yourself, are you most committed to loving and serving this coming year?

Part II: ????????? New Year Theme

One of the biggest challenges we are faced with when it comes to goal setting is identifying the sustainability of the goals we set and uncovering how we can maintain our motivation to hit them. Where most people go?wrong is they set goals which are often difficult to achieve and take a long time to reach. ?They start off with a bang the first few weeks/months, but get discouraged with each passing week?until they’ve fallen flat or given up altogether. ?

Why does this happen? ?It’s HARD. And our culture, our industry, want to see immediate results, so when that doesn’t happen, we resort back to our old ways and throw in the towel. I am not here to say goal setting isn’t important; I just also think setting the stage with an overarching theme supports increasing the sustainability and scalability of the goals we set!

Choosing one word often covers multiple aspects of your life that you want to focus on.

  • One word that will inspire you, bring you into focus, and give you a vision for?your future. ?
  • One word to become your theme of the year, and guide you in navigating what it means to be the very best version of you.
  • One word that challenges you to make positive changes in your life.

Examples: Discipline, Creativity, Compassion, Release, Motivation, Health, Purpose, Balance, Joy, Boundaries, Gratitude, Friendship, Connection, Trust
