Go to your happy place

Life's busy. And work is kind of weird these days. Social media is mucking with our ability to focus. We eat lunch on the run, if at all. What to do about it?
How about kickin it old school? Take breaks. Really. Schedule them in. Keep it simple. Close your office door. Turn off your computer screen. Go for a walk. Go straight home at the end of the work day. Do not pass GO, do not collect $100.
And most importantly, go to your happy place. Don't have one? Find yours. Try watching the clouds for 5 minutes in your hammock. Meditate. Pick up a book you started and settle into your reading nook. Lay on the floor and stretch. Go for a walk or start back at the gym. Dance in your pajamas before bed.
I challenge you to find your happy place, to go there more often. And see what shifts start to happen for you. You may notice shifts in your mindsets, your body, your thoughts. We used to know how to play, in between working hard. We seem to have unlearned this important skill. But we can get it back. We've got this!
I was wound up this week. Too much work. I lost my balance for a bit. Need to unravel. So I went to my happy place. A quiet creek. While I was there, I filmed these 2 short Paddle Your Own Boat videos for you:

Happy paddling,
Cristine

1 年I also like the idea of productivity debt. I had not heard of that idea before and makes so much sense.

1 年I love this post Cristine! My happy place is the lake and heading there tomorrow. This post reminded me of how I feel when in the forest and by the lake which gave me a little extra bit of excitement thinking about it. Thanks for sharing and the reminder to us all!
