Go soul searching and you find it well

"Soul Searching" this phrase basically means to look intently and honestly at yourself. Many people are uncomfortable and afraid to truly look at themselves, warts and all. Many others just don’t have the ability to do this well. Most others are in various stages of denial and really incapable of seeing themselves clearly. It is very rare to find someone who can actually do “soul searching.” Who are you? Why do you have the friends you do? Are they really friends or just people who help you feel that you fit in where you have chosen you want to fit?

Would they still be your friends if you were suddenly much poorer or richer, or a different race, etc.? The world is full of people who endured some change or hardship only to find out the people they thought were friends had all disappeared. Would you still love your spouse if he/she was 500 pounds? What if he/she was a race you are uncomfortable with? What if she/she was even the opposite sex of what they are now, or 30 years older? If you would leave your spouse, then is that truly love, if true love is unconditional?

Ask yourself the hard questions and don’t be afraid of the answers, but use those answers to help make yourself a better person. Would you rather find out you are much less than you thought in order to become better, or keep assuming you are as good as you thought but cease growing? That’s the choice we all have. If you truly want to grow as an individual, you have to do soul searching and find out how lacking you are in so many ways, and then you can grow. The self is just an illusion we have all invented along the way anyway. Our goal in life should not be happiness but personal growth. Those who would endure difficulty to grow end up with much greater happiness in the long.

Soul is searching for only one thing and we all know that, that is to dissolve in the permanent state of Ananda (True Joy) Ananda is the other name of God. So we all are seeking for true joy or ultimate joy. However, as I’m going through an awakening of sorts, I’ve come to learn that every single person has a soul, obviously. A soul is assigned to a physical body prior to birth and that soul has or wants to experience certain things and/or emotions while on earth, it has an agenda per say, but the soul lies dormant until the human person has an awakening.

An awakening can happen for many reasons or it may not happen to some people at all. Once it does, it’s a confusing yet beautiful experience. Body and soul combine. Soul is eager to experience its plan but cannot disrupt free will of the body. So the body senses a need for urgency. Once an awakening happens, the body goes through a transformation of sorts. The most noticeable being all senses are heightened. And suddenly the view of the world and life are much different. The Body begins to wonder/question if had been “asleep in a cocoon” for all those years prior. The soul is beautiful. Once you awaken your soul you’ll experience and see things that will forever change your view and opinion on so many levels.

I’ve experienced my higher self, spirit guides and gone home but the awakening journey that your soul is now experiencing is never ending. It’s like that beam of sunshine through the curtains in the morning, after months of stress, telling you that it’s going to be ok, your going to be ok and your not alone. It’s an experience that’s hard to explain but one knows when it happens. Soul searching may awaken your soul if it’s something your honestly asking from your heart and needing. Mind and heart, feminine energy and male energy working together as one. Your ego must be diminished. Its a love revolution. Peace, love and harmony!

One approach is this: Soul = non material legacy / heritage. If that would not exist, every individual would start it from zero. There would be no books, no poems or feelings, no knowledge. We as individuals when we are born, we are born into our spiritual heritage what we got from our ancestors. That is how collective consciousness is created. And we as individuals are born into our ancestors collective consciousness, because it will be communicated and manifested to us. That collective consciousness is the soul, actually. It's not something individual. We the individuals feed on it. So soul seeking is listening to this heritage and contributing to it.

For example even language is our heritage of the collective consciousness. It's not material. By learning a language and creating thoughts with it, you are soul seeking. One human life is simply too short to develop a soul. Soul is that something what lives on after the individual dies. And new individuals develop it further. Again: it's not something material. It's something abstract. This would be a good example to explain to materialist people that in these terms the soul does exist! ‘Soul’ is the emotional word for Spirit - it’s your gut, your spirit’s feeling place. It’s where your 5 senses connect on a mental level and are interpreted to mean something impactful on your life. Soul Searching is to come into an awareness of that feeling place, recognizing it as our inner compass and let it lead us.

Words are everything. So the first point to confirm is that you believe you have a "soul". The concept of soul is often tied to the idea we all have 3 principle dimensions to our being - the mind, the body and the soul. And the soul is the metaphysical or spiritual component of your being. Both historically and today, this soul component typically gets defined by additional terms which are related to either religious precepts and ideas, which of course come with very long historical and theological lineages; or, to contemporaneous terms which vary widely in meaning and are ideas that come and go more quickly. Contemporaneously, this is often defined as matters of the "heart" and you often hear it termed the heart and soul as inter-woven terms.

So to search your soul is to look inside of yourself and to look for meanings that go beyond simple reasoning of the mind. And it often means you should search within yourself and explain why you did something that you reasonably know you should not have done (something bad) or would not have done (something good) had your reasonable, objective and rationale mind been the driving force and which normally should/would have stopped you from doing this thing, whatever it might have been. This idea of soul is also interlaced to the idea that within each of us lies a numinous or divine force that goes beyond our current understanding of nature (science) and nurture (psychology or mind/brain based pseudo-sciences or more kindly perhaps, proto-sciences).

For me, my journey of self-discovery started when I began practicing self awareness and emotional intelligence. It took time to notice differences but there are tons of useful videos and articles, for free, on the web associated with these topics that I found very useful. So all it took was is a conscious choice to start my journey and investment in the self, rather investment in the question “who is the self?”

Upon starting this investment I realized I had a lot of damaged psychology. I was seeing the world through my own subjective realities and expected that the rest of the world should conform to what I had created. So I was going about my life in a reactionary or behavioral pattern that was ruled by my subconscious mind. Only upon building self awareness and emotional intelligence I could crack my ego enough to see through my own lies and become more conscious of all my-selves! These days, I live my life through introspection and self reflection, looking at how I can continue to grow while letting go of selves I no longer need. Cheers!
