Shoptalk 2020?
Just this week I’ve learned that Facebook cancelled its developers conference, Google cancelled a big internal event in Vegas, and that many companies, including stalwarts like Nestle and Unilever, are pulling out of Expo West next week in Anaheim.
Many of you reading this are currently planning on attending Shoptalk in a few weeks, and thus far the event is still officially taking place.
What criteria are you using in making the decision to attend yourself / send your staff given the current corona concern?

4 年Many companies are mandating non essential travel be cancelled. Likely out of the hands of many actual attendees to decide.

4 年We are now on a no-travel order as of Friday - both international and domestic. They’re also recommending a self quarantine of 14 days at home post personal travel out of an abundance of caution. Probably too cautious, but better safe than sorry!

4 年This might be a positive feedback loop where the more people pull out the more other don’t see a reason to go and do the same. We’re still planning on attending but a trade show is rather pointless if you’re the only one there.
