Go for no!

One of the hardest parts of my job is that there is only so much that I can control. And as a control freak, its a struggle. ??
This mostly looks like getting touch with incredible organizations, proposing how we can work together, and then...waiting. But that's just part of the deal. Sometimes its multiple levels of approvals, waiting for budgets, not having the time to do the work, or even just a no. But that doesn't mean the conversations stop.
As fundraisers, you experience the same thing. Maybe you need to reach out during a different time of year or work to build trust and show impact. Regardless, keep your head up and figure out ways to continue the conversation and stay top of mind.
Remember to keep adding value and find ways to share information that is in alignment with what they care about. It could even be something as simple as, "Hey it's national dog day and I just wanted to reach out and wish your pup Mocha a happy day!" It shows you care about them, took time to reach out and could be the thing to restart a conversation.

With a smaller team it can feel hard to know what to prioritize when it comes to marketing. It may feel like you need (or should) do it all. Email is a powerful tool in your marketing toolbox. That doesn't mean you have to do it all at once. Instead, start with the goals and priorities in mind and build over time. Trust me, you'll never regret having an email list of donors and potential donors you can connect with.
