GO! release

By far the most exciting, punishing yet rewarding commission of 2016 came from Aurum Publishing to shoot the contents of good friend and esteemed adventure journalist Tobias Mews' second book,  GO!

Described as a blueprint for adventure and a guide to making your own challenges for running, cycling and swimming, Tobias and I spent a week hurtling up, down, around and over the stunning Pyrenees. Now based in the Haute-Pyrenees, Tobias and family are living the dream, surrounded by jaw dropping mountains, trails and opportunity.

Shooting conditions were perfect but capturing the sheer volume of content we needed was a real race against time, something Tobias has perfected in his lengthy career racing deadlines, cutoff times and other athletes! 

From icy mountain lake swimming at 2500m on the French/Spanish boarder to racing Basque mountain trains, Atlantic ocean sunrise swims to cycling some of the greatest Cols in cycling folklore this was an incredible 7 days. I was pinching myself most days, to be stood in the midst of such stunning landscapes under the guise of work was a reminder that pursuing your passion rewards you with a genuine love of what you do. Something not enough of us were taught is achievable in school but hopefully that is changing in the 21st century.

I often bemoan my lack of workplace interaction and banter amongst colleagues, working a great deal alone from my 'man shed' at the bottom of my garden. But working alongside such inspirational and over-achieving individuals as Tobias I realise this is my 'workplace' and these people are my colleagues.

To see my name in type on the cover of a book was always a goal. To see it on a good friend's book takes it one further and I'm so unbelievably proud of not only the imagery we produced but also the positivity that Tobias' book will hopefully bring to people all over the world.
